Fall Turf Day B A C K T O B A S I C S : O C T O B E R 12
It
was a picture-perfect day for the 100+ NESTMA members who attended Fall Turf Day on October 12, 2022, at Longs Athletic Complex in Framingham, MA. Our speaker, Patrick “Irish” Coakley, CSFM, covered all the bases for safe and playable infields. His “back to the basics” approach gave sports field managers and their crews practical techniques they could use right away at their own facilities. A highlight of the day was getting out on the infield to put what everyone learned in the classroom to work. We were happy to welcome turfgrass students from nearby Keefe Tech Vocational High School to the demonstration. It was a valuable, hands-on experience for all.
