LEAGUE 27 - FALL 2010 Tuesday Night

AFTER THE FIRST WEEK OF POOL AT ROOSEVELTS, WALT WNUK COMES OUT ON TOP TAKING THE MAXIMUM POINTS POSSIBLE Table #1 David Javorski vs Jim Pellerito Jim came out fast and furious notching win after win in the 8 Ball Set and found himself with a three game lead, sitting on the hill with Dave trying to slow him down. Dave managed to put a block for one game, winning game 4. Jim stepped up in game 5 and shut the door on Dave trying to make a comeback. Jim wins 4 games to 1 for Dave. In the 9 Ball Set, it was a complete reversal as Dave found his rhythm and nailed wins in his first three games of the set, which included a 7-9 combo in game 2. Jim fought back, nailing a 2-9 combination in game 4 and finished game 5 with a win. Jim unfortunately could not

foresee what happened in game 6 as Dave found a golden opportunity to nail down the final game with a 2-9 combo that finished off the set. The final set was the tie breaker as both had won one set. The 10 Ball Set saw both players exchange games back and forth. Dave won the 1st and 3rd game as Jim won the 2nd and 4th. Jim went ahead getting to the hill first winning game 5. Dave tie him with a 10 ball win in game 6.Jim held on to win game 7 and the set. Jim wins the match, 12 to 9 for Dave in a very good match. Nice shooting by both players. Table #2: Walt Wnuk vs Peter Romanat Walt opened up the 8 Ball Set with a win in game one.

Peter came right back with a very quick win in game two nailing a 8 ball on the break. The players exchanged the next two games and then Walt nailed wins in the 5th and 6th games to close out the set with a 4 games to 2 set win. Walt continued to dominate the table notching wins in the first three games of the 9 Ball Set. Peter found one of the few openings left by Walt and nailed a 9 ball win in game 4. Walt posted the final win in the gamed 5 of the set to win 4 games to 1. Peter jumped out with an opening win in the 10 Ball Set. Walt won game two as Peter came back to win game three. Walt nailed a 4-10 combination in game 4 and then continued on with the momentum winning the final two games to close out the set, 4 games to 2. Walt wins the match, 15 to 5 for Peter. Good effort by Peter and nice shooting by Walt.

Table #3: Ray Ressler vs Matt Dessert By the looks of the 8 Ball Set, Ray should have been several under par as the white ball found the pockets on many occasions. Matt went through the set winning all four games in the set. Ray got on the board winning the first game of the 9 Ball Set. Matt found a 8-9 combination to win game two and posted another win nailing a nine ball for the win in game 3. Ray found one more win in the set, winning game 4. Matt nailed a 1-9 combo in game 5 and won game 6 for the second set win, 4 games to 2. Ray again opened up the 10 Ball Set with a win in game 1. Again Matt stayed sharp

nailing wins in the next two 10 ball games to go ahead 2 games to 1. Ray also put together back to back wins which included a 7-10 combination in game 4. After winning game 5, putting Ray on the hill, Matt again found a way to stay in the contest, winning game 6, and climbing on the hill with Ray. Somehow Ray managed to outlast Matt in the final game to win the final set, 4 game to 3 for Matt. Matt takes this set with a 13 point to 7 points for Ray. Nice shooting by Matt and good try by Ray. JOE LOPICCOLA VAULTS TWO PLAYERS TO MOVE INTO THE TOP SPOT ~ JUST AHEAD OF MIKE BATES BY 4 POINTS AT DAVE & BUSTERS Table #4: #20 Joe Lopiccola vs #14 Dave Evans. Joe opened the 8 Ball Set with a win in game one but could not contain Dave in game two as Dave nailed a win to even up the set. Joe then made some nice shots to take the lead, winning the next two games and getting on the hill. Dave slowed him down for one more win in game #5 before Joe closed the door with a win in game 6 and the set, 4 games to 2. Joe opened up the 9 Ball Set strong, breaking the rack and then running out the remaining balls with Dave getting to the table. Joe followed up the break & run with a win in game two. Dave looked like he would give Joe a run for the set as he nailed back to back wins in games 3 & 4. Dave could not contain

Joe and watched his chances disappear as Joe won the next two games to close out the set, 4 games to 2. For the third set in a row, Joe opened with a win in game one of the 10 Ball Set. It was then a back and forth exchange of games right to game 4, each player winning 2 games each. Again, Joe found the openings as well as some nice shooting to finish off Dave in the set, 4 games to 2. Joe wins the match, 15 points to 6 points for Dave. Good effort by Dave and nice shooting by Joe. Table #1: #7 Brandon Rayl vs #8 Wayne Brill. Wayne started hot nailing wins in the first two games of the 8 Ball Set. Brandon took notice and went to work, nailing wins in the next three games to get on the hill and overtake

Table #3: #19 Mike Bates vs #15 Mike Jernigan. This was the match of the night by two top notch shooters in the league. Mike J jumped out quickly against Mike B posting wins in the first two games of the 8 Ball Set. With some excellent shooting and great safe play, Mike B won the next three games to get on the hill ahead of Mike J. Mike J posted a break and run keeping Mike B off the table in game 6 to tie Mike B on the hill. They continued to battle in game 7 and Mike J made the 8 ball to win the final game and the set, 4 games to 3. Mike J continued to play hot, nailing wins in the opening (2) games of the 9 Ball Set. Mike B won game three and then watched Mike J post wins in the next two games to close out the set, 4 games to 1 for Mike B. The 10 Ball Set saw both players go

Wayne. Wayne posted a win in game 6 to get on the hill but fell short as Brandon closed out the set winning game 7. Brandon appeared to stay in his seat most of the 9 Ball Set as it was all Wayne in the set as he started hot and never slowed down, nailing wins in all four games and shutting Brandon out in the set. Wayne made it 5 straight games in a row, nailing the opening win in the 10 Ball Set. Brandon seemed to get back on track, nailing back to back wins in games 2 & 3. Wayne would get a win in game 4 and that would be that as Brandon nailed back to back wins in games 5 and 6 to win the set. With the set win, this match was tied at 10 points each. Good shooting by both players. Table #2: #18 Peter Romanat vs #16 Mike (M&M) MacMahon. It was a positive start for Peter as he opened the

back and forth from the start of the set. Mike J opened with a win, followed by Mike B. The continued to exchange games, as Mike J jumped on the hill first. Mike B followed suit getting to the hill and then nailed a 10 ball win in game 7 to win the final set, 4 games to 3 for Mike J. Mike J wins the match, 13 to 9 for Mike B. Great shooting by two very good players. Table #5: #2 Omar Demara vs #13 Jim Pellerito Omar continues his fine shooting skills as he opened up winning the the 8 Ball Set first game. He did not stop there as he kept Jim P off the table most of the

8 Ball Set with a win. M&M won the next four consecutive games to finish off the set 4 games to 1 for Peter. Mike M made it 6 games in a row as he posted wins in the opening two games of the 9 Ball Set. Peter snuck in a win in game three and then watched M&M finish off the set winning the next two games for a 4 games to 1 set win. Peter made a charge in the 10 Ball Set winning the first game of the set. Mike followed up with a win in game 2 and Peter followed winning game 3. Mike M then slammed the door winning the final three games to close out the set, 4 games to 1. M&M wins the match, 15 to 4 for Peter. Good try to Peter & nice shooting by M&M.

set winning all 4 games without Jim getting a win. It was a mirror image in the 9 Ball Set as Omar continued to play well, taking advantage of every mistake made by Jim to win the set, 4 games to 0. Jim seemed to get his eye back in the 10 Ball Set as he posted his first win of the match. He and Omar went back in forth posting wins every other game for the first 4 games. Omar seemed to go cold and Jim got hot, nailing back to back wins and close out Omar and win the set, 4 games to 2 for Omar. Omar wins the match 12 to 5 for Jim. A valiant effort by Jim and nice shooting by Omar.

Table #6: #3 Doug Johnson vs #12 Jaret Wilson. This was another tough match between two accomplished players in the league. Doug jumped right out in the 8 Ball Set with an opening break and run out to win the first game. Jaret fought back and nailed wins in games 2 and 3 to take the lead in the set. Doug won game 4 and Jaret quickly nailed an 8 ball win in game 5 to jump on the hill. Doug fought back and won game 6. Jaret had game 7 in hand until he scratched on the 8 ball to lose the set, 4 games to 3. Jaret opened up the 9 Ball Set with a win in game 1. Doug notched back to back wins in games 2 and 3 to take the lead. Jaret won game 4 and Doug got to the hill with a win in game 5. Jaret again closed the gap, jumping on the hill with a win in game 6. Doug held his own in game 7 and won the final game for a 4 game to 3 set win. The final 10 Ball Set was no

different than the first two sets with Doug jumping out with back to back wins which included a 2-10 combination win in game 2. Jaret continued to press and nailed a win in game 3 and followed that up with a 3-10 combination win in game 4. Doug got to the hill first winning game 5 and Jaret nailed a 6-10 combination in game 6 to match Doug on the hill. Again, Doug found a way to post a win and finished off the set winning game 7. Doug wins the match, 15 to 9 for Jaret in a very tight match. Good shooting by both players.

Table #7: #4 Scott Kroll vs #11 John Killett. John opened up the 8 Ball Set with a win in game one. Scott came right back winning game 2. He did not stop there as he won the next 3 games to win the first set, 4 games to 1 for John. John started off with a win in the 9 Ball Set. Scott took game 2 and John got hot and posted

Table #8: # 5 Walt ( the Wizard) Wnuk vs #10 Jake Richey. Game one in the 8 Ball Set went to Walt as Jake made the 8 ball out of turn. Walt nailed a win on his own in game 2 to take a 2 games to 0 lead. Jake won game number three before Walt went back to work and nailed back to back wins in games # 4 & # 5 to win the first set. Jake and Walt went back and forth in the 9

the 9 Ball Set. Kent fought back nailing back to back wins in games 3 and 4 to tie Ron. Ron then and posted wins in the 5th and 6th games to finish off the set, 4 games to 2. Kent took the lead in the 10 Ball Set opening with back to back wins in the first two games. Ron notched a win in game 3 and then watched Kent get on the hill winning game 4. With some nice shooting and good safe play, Ron fought back and nailed wins in the next three games to close out Kent in the set, 4 games to 3. Ron wins the match, 15 to 8 for Kent in a hard fought match. Good shooting by both players. (4) Players have make ups to complete: Victor Francisco vs Ray Ressler Mike Jernigan vs Scott Kroll

Wednesday Night

Ball Set exchanging games through game #6 as both players got on the hill. It was Jake who found the opening that gave him the set win, 4 games to 3 for Walt. Walt came out in the 10 Ball Set with a purpose, and that was to win the final set. He posted wins in four straight games holding Jake off the table most of the set with some nice shooting and decent safe play. Walt wins 4 games to 0 for Jake. Walt wins the match 13 to 6 for Jake. A valiant effort by Jake and nice shooting by Walt. Table #10: #1 Ron Price vs #17 Kent Jenkins. Ron started the 8 Ball Set with an opening win and then seem to find himself sitting more that his opponent Kent. Kent nailed 8 ball wins in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th games to match Ron on the hill. Ron nailed the win in game 7 to take the set, 4 games to 3. Ron again jumped out in front with back to back wins in Continued bottom left
