SPEAKERS SUMMIT 2018

TOASTMASTERS INTERNATIONAL Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. The organization has helped members practice and strengthen their skills since 1924. Since then, membership has grown by hundreds of thousands and expanded to more than 142 countries. Each day, thousands of people go to Toastmasters meetings held in communities and organizations around the globe. A club meeting isn’t structured like a classroom with an instructor. Instead, it’s a supportive group environment where people with diverse skill sets and backgrounds come together to practice their skills and exchange valuable feedback with each other. Through Toastmasters, a member will learn how to organize, write, and deliver presentations with poise and confidence. A toastmaster practices by giving speeches in club settings among people who want to help him improve and watch him succeed. By attending meetings, a toastmaster strengthens his ability to listen, learns to evaluate others’ ideas in a positive way, and practices leadership skills. Welcome to Toastmasters International, Where Leaders Are Made.

DISTRICT 75 | DIVISION H Through its worldwide network of clubs, Toastmasters helps nearly 280,000 people communicate effectively and achieve the confidence to lead others. District 75 or Toastmasters Philippines has more than 150 to date. The District is divided into 13 Divisions. Division H is home to District 75’s affable and enthusiastic leaders. We pride ourselves with our quirky and happy disposition that allows us to enthusiastically execute our tasks. We believe in serving with a heart – a heart that seeks no glorification but rather delights on a pure and an unadulterated desire to give value to the lives of our fellow Toastmasters.
This is who we are. We are Division H – District 75’s Division Happy Hearts.

2018 SPEAKERS SUMMIT This training and workshop will give attendees the knowledge, motivation, and skills they need to become more effective communicators and leaders with esteemed speech contests winners as facilitators. Speech contests are an important part of the Toastmasters educational program. They provide an opportunity for toastmasters to gain speaking experience. Each year, toastmasters compete in the Humorous, Evaluation, Table Topics, and International Speech Contests. Competition begins with club contests and winners continue competing through the Area, Division, and District levels. Because of the rigorous selection process winners go through, they are put on a pedestal for members to look up to and learn from. Specifically, the event aims for the attendees to : 1. Learn best tips and practices that help convert an ordinary piece to a winning speech; 2. Acquire public speaking skills that make one stand out from the rest; 3. Set clear standards for an effective speech evaluation; and 4. Write, speak, and deliver like a professional speaker.

BODY LANGUAGE & GESTURES CHAMPION 2006 AREA QUARTETHLON

LES AQUINO Les competed and became Area Champion in the 2006 Quartethlon Contest. The Quartethlon was a grueling competition of 4 events: Prepared Speech, Evaluation, Impromptu Speaking, and Singing - all in the same day. As an IT professional, he has presented and published 5 technical papers in various local and international symposia. In his journey as a toastmaster, he learned that the moment one stops doing public speaking, his skills will slowly deteriorate. There's a saying among athletes that aptly describes this, "You use it, or you lose it." He encourages toastmasters to never stop public speaking. He has one piece of advice for would-be speakers: For everyone: You have to put in the hours of practice and stage time because nobody became a great speaker overnight. For toastmasters: Simply follow the Toastmasters Promise, and you will become the greatest speaker you could possibly be.
