Immigration Let’s open the doors wide and give new immigrants a chance! America is a country of culturally diverse people. Asian Americans and Mexican Americans bring different religions, races, talents, and skills. Giving them a chance is helping America become more diverse. The population of Asian Americans here has increased. Have you seen all these Chinatowns! Asian Americans have all these small businesses like, cafe’s, barber shops, hotels, etc. Asian Americans are very big on bringing agriculture to the US. It's amazing . Mexican Americans also increase the population to the us and the working environment changed largely, the biggest working environment that grew was farms and factories were the main two but they were also discriminated as well they spoke out and said that mexican americans were not “american enough” for this country but they are very hard working and deserve the right to experience things and to have opportunities in this country as well. The population has expanded by immigrants but mainly Europeans coming from the western part and eastern there values were work they want a better life just like other immigrants .They want hard labor work to provide for themselves and their family .

This is is a big issue because it was as if the immigrants who were coming into the US because people would say that the immigrants were taking there jobs and opportunities were limited for immigrants from the south. At first the new immigrants were very happy to come to a “new world” but then shortly after they became ambiguous because of all the discrimination towards The immigrants that are coming are coming for new opportunities and a new life mostly and do we really want our country stop them do we want to be the block that is not letting them strive for what they want and only to do good in our america . The immigrants that are coming are coming for new opportunities and a new life mostly and do we really want our country stop them do we want to be the block that is not letting them strive for what they want and only to do good in our america .

Nativists: Our Greatest Heros Opinion piece by;: Leah Rietz It has been exactly three years and two months since the end of the Great War. The devastating repercussions still affect every single one of us today- three years and two months since the treaty was signed. It is crucial that America, as a country, rebuilds the stability of its superior nation. Reassembling a homogenous population is essential. Post-war times are a time of uneasiness, and our current need for restoration is insatiable. All focus should be set on aiding our recovering economy. Immigrants take this focus away! Not only do they faze our attention, they add to the insecurity of economy, create social unrest, and disrupt national unity! Stand with the Nativists! They look out for our best interest. Their primary goal is to stop the flow of immigrants to our country. Immigrants don’t value our culture; they are out to terminate our domination, therefore they must be stopped! Nativists will stop them. Immigrants are weighed down with baggage and they have the audacity to try and dump them on our nation. They arrive on our coasts with their backpacks of dirt, their suitcases of disease, and their bags of crime. Carrying this baggage, is aliens. They do not speak our language, have our skin tones, wear the same clothes as us, believe the same things, or praise the same gods! They are lost foreigners coming from less desireable countries looking to threaten our jobs and economic stability, occupy our neighborhoods, and argue with us. We cannot afford to have them burdening our country. Between 1905 and 1914, only one million people immigrated here over the span of nine years. However, after the war, over one million immigrants landed here in the span of two years. They will never fully become one-hundred percent American. They are not looking to join our immense culture and have no intentions of adopting our marvelous values. They are purely here to steal our money and reach stability. They resent our religions, habits, traditions, values, and culture. The foreigners continue to have pride
from their country of origin. They repel our Americanization, and instead impose European values on us. It is only respectful to conform with the culture of the country that is offering you the courtesy of staying there. Invidious, intransigent people should not, under any circumstances, be permitted here. May 19th, 1921: a day that will go down in history as a day that we, the nativists, made great strides. On this monumental day, the Emergency Act of 1921, regarding immigration, was passed. As a result, the amount of immigrants permitted into our country was curbed to 370,000. The Quota System, set the maximum amount of a country’s population in our country at 3%. Significant as this is, we must keep pushing for more! Maybe, we can continue passes more and more laws, and maybe one day, no more aliens will be knocking on our doors. We will not be satisfied until the numbers are 0 and 0%. It is obvious that, given chance after chance, immigrants cannot find the honor inside of them to respect our culture. Therefore there is no way we can live in harmony. They must be kicked out. Some may argue that America is currently living sound with both foreign and native born, but they must look again. Their arguments are not tenable considering the reasons they must be pushed out, heavily outweigh the neutral. We will no longer stay taciturn, it is time to fight for our country’s future existence. Our founding fathers did not fight for our independence, just to have the same people we escaped from, to come back and retake us.

Repercussion of Nativist Values Group Editorial
Why did nativism increase in the 1920s, and what consequences did this have on America? Between the years of 1905 and 1914, merely one million people immigrated to the United States over the span of nine years. However, after the end of the war (1918), severely over one million immigrants have migrated here in the span of two years alone. The immigration rate has increased by 350%. Immigrants during this time, mainly originated from East and Southern Europe, Asia, and Mexico. With rates soaring, the rise of nativists came hand and hand along with it. Nativism is the belief that native-born and established inhabitants of a country should have their interests protected over the rights of immigrants. Nativists feel that American values are superior to others and most feel nervous about the increased diversity present in the country. While some patriotism is healthy for a country, too much can be detrimental. Nativism brings a handful of consequences to the US. One of the results of nativism is an organization called the Klu Klux Klan (K.K.K.) The main goal of the Klan is to cast out anyone who doesn’t follow the American format, tradition, and culture of the U.S. This group is one of the most feared and opinionated collection of individuals whose sole motive is drawn from their fear. The Klan is afraid of immigrants because they worry that they may one day take over the United States. The K.K.K. thinks that the only way to safe-guard the American tradition is
to hinder immigrants. People’s apprehension towards the group is justified; the K.K.K is a secret organization who attacks immigrants at night if they do not act “American” enough for their standards. They wear white hoods with a white robe to keep their identity confidential. They kidnap, whip, cross burn, and murder immigrants. These unethical, sickening abuses, create an immense problem in our society. Under no circumstances is it tenable to kill or injure someone based off of their culture or beliefs. The Ku Klux Klan is a group of extreme nativists that must be stopped. Nativism also caused the conviction of two innocent men. Court wrongly accused Nicolas Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti of a crime they did not commit, simply because they were Italian immigrants. The men were suspected to have committed a robbery and a murder, but the evidence for the trial was weak and non-circumstantial, considering that there was no physical evidence. Therefore, the persuasion of nativists played a large role in sentencing the men. They were found guilty on July 14, 1921 and executed on August 23, 1927. Two men should not have men put to death purely based off of their ethnicity. This clearly substantiates the need for nativist regulation in America. Obviously, nativists are causing problems if they can end the lives of two innocent men; this is corruption in our court system!
Repercussion of Nativist Values (continued) In an attempt to solve the problems caused by the nativists, the government tried to meet them halfway with a compromise. They put into effect, a quota law in the year of 1921 due to the uprisings and problems that have been awaken by immigration. Under this law, less immigrants were permitted to enter the country. You, the people, should be overwhelmed with relief to see this law be put in place. Not because of your opposition to either immigrants or nativists, but rather because the extreme values of both sides are being better balanced under it. Now, we hope to see the nativists surrender their uprisings. We would like if the Ku Klux Klan put their dreadful attacks to rest. We desire for the justice to be restored in our court system. Most importantly, we hope that peace is reinstated in our society, because we know that peace and tranquility is more important than having a homogenous unified state. As an added bonus, the decrease in the immigrants causes more jobs to be open for us and no more sickly diseases are being introduced. The quota law allows our country to finally run smoothly, like a well slicked machine. In conclusion, although the nativists think they are looking our for Americans best interests, they bring more harm to our country, than aid. It is true that immigrants do not speak our language, do not share the same values, do not have the same skin tones, or think the same way as us. They take our jobs and try to Europeanize us. However, they are people that have basic human rights. They do not deserved to be suppressed by organizations such as the Ku Klux Klan. Gruesome ending to their lives, will not solve ours. It is only fair that they get unbiased rulings in court. We as a country have made progressions
toward a compromise with the passing of the Quota Law in 1921, but we must push for more settlement. Overall, nativists’ moral come from a good place, but their execution of their thoughts are performed in corrupted ways, thus we must push for the regulation of them.
A shipload of immigrants coming to the United States
In the 1920s America was often referred to as a melting pot because immigrants each brought different values and traditions
The Rise of the K.K.K. America we have a massive problem! Ever since the end of WWl, the United States has been facing a critical problem, immigrants. The result of the war has allowed thousands of immigrants to join America, due to many “ non-american” cultures, a new faction has risen from the U.S. in the form of a clan called the “Klu.Klux.Klan”. The main goal of the Klan is to cast out anyone who doesn’t follow the american format and culture of the U.S. by any means necessary. In the past 25 years or so, immigrants have crossed the Atlantic Ocean and set their eyes on the United States as their new home. The United States first started out with immigrants who came to this beautiful land and named it “ The New World”. So this whole country inside and out is all for immigrants, everyone has the right to do what they want like Freedom of Speech, Freedom to Gather around, freedom to Religion, and so on. Due to their race such as Catholics, their religion appears to upset some americans. Because of this the Klu Klux Klan decided that anyone who don’t follow the american tradition will get casted out. Many immigrants aren’t nice though. There are some who have taken advantage of American hospitality and monopolized some American industries. In fact, it has been rumored that some immigrants are waiting for an opportunity to bring the green, yellow or red flag for the stars and stripes, but that

is just a rumor. This is what the Klan hates and so it can be assumed that the Klan in fact fear new immigrants as they fear that immigrants might take over the United States. The K.K.K has thousands of members which are mostly white people, native-born, Christians and American. The Klan thinks that it is their duty to cast out anyone who do not act as americans, follow the american traditions or do anything that is only american. No need to worry too much, they seem to attack bad immigrants or at least that’s what some people think. Their targets are Negroes, Catholics, Jews or any foreign states that lacks these targets. In order to achieve this, the Klan has created so many bases across the United States to locate and cast out anyone who do not follow the American culture. Essentially they have become an invisible empire. Some may ask “What do you mean an invisible empire?” Well, here’s where they get dark, get ready. In order to not get spotted by anyone, the Klan attack mostly at night where it is dark and when they find a target, the would hang them. To keep their identities a secret, the Klan wears a white robe, white gloves, and a white hoodie. The leader of group would decide who to spare, or who to hang and they would hang people on trees. All this is happening, because of the fear of immigrants. Ever since the end of WWl, the United States has been facing a massive problem with immigrants all because of religion and culture which has affected a lot of Americans. Due to that the Klu.Klux.Klan was born to do the devil’s work. We all must keep this in our minds that America started out with immigrants and the first amendment of the Bill of Rights states that everyone has the freedom to religion or do to anything good. This Klan thinks they are doing 9 the right thing but actually they are doing the wrong thing. We must stop these monsters before

The 1921 Quota Law What is the 1921 quota law? The new Quota Law says 3% of people from a country are allowed to come into the U.S. This law is in place to keep our states from becoming overcrowded. Immigration has decreased by about 50% after we passed this law. One of the biggest reasons we chose to make this law is for the power over others. This fills the needed power led to discrimination. Our goal is to keep the Europeans out and have more control of who all was coming in, this way we can hold the power we are wanting. Some good things have been coming out of immigration, such as; an eye opener to new cultures they don’t want a lot of money, and there are now people willing to work no matter what it takes. Sure we all know that all goods still come with bads. Have you guys noticed how many people are losing their jobs and others are getting really sick. The immigrants that have come into the U.S are taking peoples jobs! They say they don’t need to get paid as much as the people who are already working. More immigrants are getting hired while former works are losing their jobs. With our fellow Americans losing their jobs they are not getting any income so they have no way to support their families. To add on top of all of our people not having money and work to live off of, they are getting sick. With the immigrants coming in so fast our people have been getting sick.
By: Arianna Warren Fellow Americans are getting sick because all of these new immigrants are coming from places with diseases that are not here in the US, and we don't know how to get rid of them. As more and more people come in more US citizens got sick. Our new laws are helping with this problem too. Now that we got control of who is coming in we can get a hold on who all is getting sick and why. It’s time for you to chose, is this good or bad. If you really think about it you should be for this law. It is helping us stay alive and helping us keep our jobs. If you love your family and are wanting to support them then you should be for. We all can go on with our lives now without worry some random person is going to come in and take our jobs, money we need, and maybe the life of someone you care for and love. Take a stands with our laws and don’t let these immigrants take what’s your. It’s a good thing to have this limit on how many immigrants can be coming in to the U.S, because no one loses their job, no one is getting really sick, and not as many people are dying from unknown illnesses to the U.S. Fight to keep this law and make the right changes we are needing for our lives, and the following generations to come. Lets not leave them a mess to clean. Keep this law and make a happy future.
President Coolidge signs the immigration act on the White House on the South Lawn along with appropriation bills for the Veterans Bureau.
