INTRODUCTION I have faith in every design I create, however there are always doubts that hold me back from creating the vision I wish to achieve. Overcoming these doubts and always looking on the bright side helps me keep the faith that my vision will come to life just as I intend it to.

A RACE AROUND THE CLOCK “Top Gear” is a British television series that began in the late 1970s and had its reincarnation in 2002. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May along with their “tame racing driver”, The Stig, use their knowledge of cars and their humor to create a unique series. With this in mind, four clocks were developed depicting each cast member and housed in their own packaging. This creates a collectible entity for fans of the show to collect and have fun with.

THE SOUND OF WATER Tasked to create a design that can work throughout multiple applications from print to screen, students were asked to create and develop a music festival that was inspired by a social cause and a fictional music lineup of their own choosing or musical tastes. Inspired by a real foundation, Charity: Water, which helps provide clean water sources to developing countries, I created the music festival Project: Water which would feature multiple indie artists that would take place in the San Francisco Bay Area.

BRANDING THE FAMILY BUSINESS Nugget Market was founded in 1926 by a father and son, William and Mack Stille in downtown Woodland, CA. Their first store helped pioneer concepts such as in-house meat departments, refrigerated produce, and checkout stands with conveyor belts. They expanded outside of the local Woodland community in the 1970s into cities such as Davis and Sacramento. In the late 1990s, they took on a new concept of creating a European-style marketplace within their stores. This incorporated everything from a full-service kitchen to a coffee bar. This new brand intends to help extend the company from a local, Northern California, grocery chain to a nation wide brand.

UNDERSTANDING DISASTER "From The Ashes" is a conceptual book designed to promote the New Leaf Paper line Reincarnation. The concept of this project focuses on the communities that were hit with destruction from natural disasters. Natural disasters occur every day but some are much stronger than others, leaving a greater impact on the communities they destroy. "From The Ashes" focuses on a few of the most destructive natural disasters of the past ten years: the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, the 2011 Tohoku earthquake in Japan, the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, and the Joplin Tornado in the United States that hit in 2011.

WHAT'S IN A NAME? The task of this project was to design wine labels for Trinchero Family Estates from a selection of possible names. The only true restriction being our imaginations, how they were inspired by the names we have chosen, and how our designs would communicate to the Millenial generation. From a list of names, I chose Revel and Backflip. Revel was used for a high-end chardonnay and Backflip for a quality wine for the everyday wine enthusiast.

THE COLORS AROUND US As a collaborative group project with Jordan Neil Louie, Maria Evangelina, and Danny You involving Pantone, Moo.com, and other graphic design students of the Academy of Art University, each group in our class designed a set of flashcards, an app, and website geared towards teaching children about color and color meaning. The Colorbots of New Bot City are a group of robot characters that show the relationship between color and emotion. Our group developed each Colorbot to have personality traits and occupations that fit that of a chosen Pantone color. The diversity between the different Colorbots creates unique, individual characters where children can relate to their different personalities or aspire to have a similar occupation in their future.

HOW CAN WE DO MORE FOR OUR PETS? Tasked to develop a product or organization to help solve a problem in the local community, I developed my concept for PetWell. San Francisco animal shelters have a problem with overcrowding. This is mainly due to pet owners abandoning their pets because of financial distress. In order to solve this problem, the PetWell organization is intended to collect and distribute pet food and supply donations to help keep pets in their loving homes.

DISCOVERING MY HERITAGE Tondeña Manila Rum was first created in 1902 by Don Carlos Palanca, at his distillery known as La Tondeña Distillers Incorporada. The distillery was the country’s lead producer of hard liquors and is now owned by the San Miguel Corporation. The objective of this project was to create one design that would update the current look at its retail price using the original bottle shape and create a new design at a higher price point with gift packaging. Utilizing the history of the Philippines, the design is inspired by the nation's Spanish influence while incorporating traditional Filipino design inspirations.

A SPORT FOR ALL MANKIND The World Baseball Classic was sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation and created by Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association in 2005. It is the first baseball tournament to have national baseball teams which feature professional players from leagues around the world including Major League Baseball. This rebrand is meant to create a look that is able to compete with other sport tournament branding. The new look takes its largest inspiration from the sports history in the United States and its large presence in Japan and multiple Latin American countries.

THIS JOURNEY WASN'T EASY.

BUT I HAD THE BEST SUPPORT.

BUT I HAD THE BEST SUPPORT.

THANK YOU TO MY FAMILY & FRIENDS — Endless thanks to my mom and brother who have supported me throughout my life and always helped me at a moments notice. To my grandmothers who have been there since the very beginning with their prayers and never-ending words of encouragement. To all my aunties, uncles, and cousins who served as inspirations in more ways than they could imagine, especially my cousin Kayla who has been my test subject and model on plenty of occasions. A special thanks to my best of friends Val, Dom, and Ian for being the perfect people to vent to, get a second opinion from, and for putting up with the many texts that I send at all hours of the day and night. To Teena, who has been an amazing support throughout my toughest times and always thinks everything I make is cool even though I might not think the same. To my old high school friends, St. Joseph friends, and the friends I made during my six years at the Disney Store for their support throughout my years at the Academy of Art. I consider all of you family. TO MY AAU PEERS — Thank you all for the critiques, inspiration, and help you've provided for me throughout the years. TO MY INSTRUCTORS — A special thanks to Mary Scott for making this book and everything that I've learned about design possible. To all my graphic design instructors, especially: Thomas McNulty, Darrell Hayden, Christine George, Ariel Grey, Tom Sieu, and Troy Alders. Thank you for the many lessons learned, the inspiration, the many opportunities, and the motivation to get the best work out of me.
