We have been committed to the smart home market and are well-equipped to address end-to-end smart home requirements for our customers in the region.”
In 2018, D-Link introduced ‘Brite-box’ SDN approach for enterprises. It was at a time when using SDN to automate data center operations and maximize infrastructure flexibility was becoming essential to maintain competitiveness for data center operators and service providers. According to Sakkeer Hussain, Director - Sales & Marketing at D-Link Middle East & Africa, “Brite-Box provided the advantages of working with a trusted brand, including proven switching technology and established support infrastructure without running the commercial and operational support risks of working directly with bulk purchased white box unbranded bare metal equipment.” In 2018, D-Link had introduced the initial version of Nuclias, a cloud-based network management solution. The offering enabled managed service providers and business owners to remotely configure and monitor their network infrastructures anywhere and at any time without the need for a local controller, reducing cost and complexity while streamlining network infrastructure. D-Link and its partners were way ahead of the market demand and well prepared for today’s scenario where businesses are now moving complete workloads to the cloud. Over the last three years, D-Link has also brought to market its
D-Link also introduced D-Fend AC2600 Wi-Fi Router in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) market a couple of years ago. The wireless DIR-2680 router innovation was powered with an Intel chip and security by McAfee. T
he channel has been pivotal to D-Link’s goto market strategies and continues to be a significant factor of its continued growth. For the channel likewise, D-Link has been a key vendor partner in their respective portfolios. It has been a mutually complementing partnership that has ensured healthy business growth for the brand and partners. For partners, D-Link’s extensive portfolio of quality networking products, its brand recall and demand with buyers whether in retail or wholesale channels, both the consumer or SMB and the always available access to vendor support have been the driving factors that have made the brand one of the top favorites. D-Link has ensured its product stocks are never short in the market nor are they in excess. This micro-management has been quite the key to the company’s product distribution and inventory management, which has been enabled only through its constant day to day interactions with its channel. The longevity of its partner relationships has seen several partners flourish through their focus on D-Link product lines. D-Link has also ensured that partners are well taken care of through

channel incentives and top performing partners are recognized and rewarded. D-Link has regularly taken many of its partners to exotic locales for their Channel and Business meets. D-Link’s expansion of its SMB product line also gave resellers the golden chance to address the opportunities in the SMB segment. As the current pandemic has challenged the channel business, especially during the strict lockdown periods during March to April, D-Link was quick to respond to its channel’s concerns. While companies had resorted to adoption of work from home measures for its employees, there was a need for remote connectivity solutions, and security solutions. D-Link urged its partners to focus on cloud and network security solutions to help their customers navigate cybercrime in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sakkeer Hussain, Director- Sales & Marketing, D- Link MEA, said, “Channel partners should stay abreast of the current market scenario and be a step ahead to assist customers in their cybersecurity strategies for their infrastructures and networks. They are in a unique position to become customers’ trusted advisors during this time of crisis. “At D-Link, we are ensuring partners are regularly trained on the latest network and cloud security offerings that we have. We also encourage them to explore the opportunities that exist through our technology alliances.” Over the years, D-Link has made some significant business alliances that have amplified the vendor’s enterprise and SMB product portfolio, especially in the network security space. Regional channel partners can capitalize on the definite prospects that these collaborations bring to the table. For example, the association with GajShield is one of D-Link’s strategic tie-ups that has helped it expand the company’s enterprise product portfolio and reinforcing presence in the network security segment. The partnership with GajShield Infotech allows D-Link’s extensive network of value-added resellers and systems integrators to offer innovative solutions across unified threat management (UTM), data leak prevention (DLP) and email security solutions to their customer base, across SOHO, SMB and enterprise segments. “These solutions play a critical role for any organization, especially now that perpetrators are increasing their activities to take advantage of the chaos and uncertainty brought on by the current pandemic. Partners should look at these areas where they are sure to add immense value to their customers. At D-Link Middle East, we are completely committed to our partners and continue to offer them support in every way we can,” added Hussain. D-Link has been calling upon its partners to think outside the box to spot new opportunities during this covid-19 crisis. The vendor believes that the regional channel community can take advantage of its portfolio of routers, access points, mesh networks and network security to successfully capitalize on market prospects and address opportunities for remote working solutions and keeping them secure.
