1. INTRODUCTION SET – Self-Entrepreneurship Training for Trainers is a 24-month long project focused on entrepreneurship education for trainers. The project is funded by the European Commission, DG Education and Culture under the Lifelong Learning Grundtvig Programme. SET aims to identify an innovative training methodology for trainers in the area of entrepreneurship and validate it through one international training course that will have 2 editions during the project (one in Slovenia and another one in Italy). Through this, the project aims to improve the availability and quality of European Training Courses and foster adult education at a European level. SET project is being implemented by a partnership of 10 countries. Project partners are institutions from different countries with different fields of expertise, ensuring complementary competences and experiences: o

Castlereagh Enterprises Ltd (Northern Ireland) - coordinator

Work Packages 6 and 7 of SET Project include dissemination and exploitation activities to be completed during and beyond the lifetime of the project. WP 6 is led by the Spanish partner IPF and WP7 is led by the Portuguese partner SPI. All partners are involved in the dissemination and exploitation activities to ensure that project results are transferred to the target groups at national and local level.

The present document, Dissemination and Exploitation Plan, defines the activities to be carried out in the project to enhance the successful dissemination and exploitation of the project results.

3

2. OBJECTIVES OF DISSEMINATION AND EXPLOITATION The dissemination and exploitation strategy of SET Project is of crucial importance to achieve successful results. In order to fully understand this strategy, it is crucial that partners base themselves in common concepts of dissemination and exploitation: Dissemination:

Dissemination

includes

promotion

and

awareness-raising

activities. Dissemination activities take place in the beginning of the project or even before to make known the existence of a project, the aims and objectives and developments. Dissemination in general is a planned process of providing information to the target group and key actors in regard to project process, activities and results by the use of different dissemination channels at local, regional, national, EU and international level. Exploitation: Exploitation includes activities of mainstreaming (actual transfer of successful results to appropriate stakeholders and decision-makers) and multiplication (convincing end-users to adopt or apply the results of the projects). The main objectives of the Dissemination and Exploitation activities are: o

To

promote

and

raise

awareness

about

the

project

contents,

developments and results; o

To successfully transfer the results to appropriate decision-makers to achieve their sustainable promotion and support;

o

To convince individual end-users to adopt and/or apply the results, also after the project and support by its partnership has ended.

In order to clear the dissemination and exploitation strategy for SET project, the following chapters try to answer central questions such as: o

Which will be the project results?

o

What kind of needs does the project respond to?

4

o

Who are the final or potential users or beneficiaries of the project’s outcomes?

Additionally the Dissemination and Exploitation Plan indicates: o

Types of dissemination and exploitation activities to be carried out;

o

Means/Instruments that will be used

o

Calendar of exploitation activities

3. TARGET GROUPS Target groups are entities and/or individuals that can potentially benefit from the project results. For a productive and effective dissemination and exploitation of the project outcomes, it is essential that target groups are identified at an early stage of the project. SET has the following main target groups:

Direct Target Group The direct target group (primary target group) includes organizations and individuals that can be direct users of the project results. These are especially: o

Trainers and teachers of entrepreneurship topics;

o

Vocational training organizations and other training providers including NGOs, consultancies, unemployment centers, business centers, etc.

o

Universities, colleges and other providers of higher education and their educational staff;

o

Business Advisors, Trainers, Counselors, Mentors;

o

Local/regional/national

bodies

that

support

entrepreneurs

and

entrepreneurship.

Indirect Target Group The indirect target group (secondary target group) includes organizations that can lead indirectly to the direct target groups of the project. These are especially: o

VET providers Associations;

o

Trainers/Teachers Associations;

6

o

Adult Learners Associations;

o

Adult Education Providers Associations;

o

Association of Universities and other higher education providers;

o

Public authorities responsible for the development and implementation of the vocational training policy;

o

Networks related to entrepreneurship, such as EINET (European Institute and Network for Enterprise Education and Training – www.einet.org), BIC Network (www.ebn.be), etc.

Long-term beneficiaries It is also essential to identify the long-term beneficiaries of the project. SET aims to identify and validate a training methodology for teaching entrepreneurship, thus the focus will be on the teaching aspect of the training. Therefore, the target groups comprise organizations and individuals linked to this aspect. There are, however, certain groups that will also benefit from the project outcomes, although not on a short term but rather on a long term basis. These are potential trainees of the training elaborated by the project. This group includes especially micro, small and medium sized enterprises. SET partners will identify concrete organizations and individuals in their countries belonging to both the primary and the secondary target groups. On the basis of this research, a database will be elaborated containing the contacts of the relevant organizations and individuals. Furthermore, partner will identify key organizations and networks at European level through which project results can be transferred. The identification of key stakeholders will allow partners to transfer project results more easily and carry out more focused exploitation activities. This will also increase the probability that the project results are applied by the target group

beyond the project and will be done in connection with the dissemination activities.

8

4. ENSURING THE VALORISATION OF PROJECT RESULTS Previous to the implementation of the project, the project consortium identified the general demand in Europe to improve the competences of trainers that work in the area of entrepreneurship. This previous assessment concluded that the project and its outcomes will have relevance on a European scale. In order to ensure that the project results are exploitable, i.e. represent value for the target group and are applicable, these will be developed in a way that they are adapted to the real needs of the primary target group. Project activities will identify and take these needs into consideration the following way: The consortium will firstly conduct an analysis of the needs of trainers and teachers teaching entrepreneurship and also of project beneficiaries via structured questionnaires and national case studies. This will be followed by the training content elaboration that will be completed with the involvement of local stakeholders.

The elaborated training content will then be tested through a pilot training course. Thus, partners and stakeholders from the partner countries will be able to provide their opinions. Training content will then be improved based on the results of the pilot course and the opinions provided by partner country stakeholders. The improved training content will then be implemented in further two G3 training courses that will take place in Italy and Slovenia. Furthermore, the constant evaluation of the project and its outcomes throughout the project lifetime will also provide feedback to partners on whether the project outcomes are in accordance with the identified target group’s and project beneficiaries´ needs.

9

5. PROJECT RESULTS The exploitable project results are identified as follows: o

Best Practice Manual and Survey Results;

o

Training Course Content (topics to be addressed in the course);

o

Outcomes of the Pilot Training Course implemented in the UK;

o

Improved Training Content based on the results of the pilot course and the feedback of the partners and stakeholders of the partner countries;

o

Outcomes of the Training Course implemented in Slovenia and Italy (e.g. Report and presentations;

o

Outcomes of the Final Conference.
