SOLUTION BRIEF
Managed Learning Services
6 Steps To Achieving An Effective MLS Implementation Once you’ve made the decision that a managed learning service could work for your organisation, there are a number of steps you can take to help you ensure a successful procurement and implementation.
1. Create a Project Team It’s important to decide who your key stakeholders and decision makers are, and make sure they are represented in your project team – typical functions include L&D, HR, Finance, Procurement and IT. Also identify who your key points of contact with the managed learning partner will be and what their role is likely to involve.
2. Define the Scope of Expectations You need to have clear definitions of what the scope of the service will be: • What specific aspects or L&D will the service cover? • What locations will the service cover?
3. Choose Your Managed Learning Service Partner The best kind of managed learning service partner is one that can help you define what ‘good’ looks like. There are a few key questions you can ask to help you create a shortlist of potential providers: • Do they have experience of managing complex training requirements? • Do they have a reputation for delivering high quality training? • Do they have a strong team of industry experts that will add value to your organisation? • Can they manage all your logistical requirements to deliver a seamless service? • Do they cover all the geographical regions within the scope of the service? • Do they have the flexibility to provide bespoke programmes that fit exactly with your organisational needs?
• Do you plan to use a LMS portal? • Do you have requirements for a shared service centre and do you want this hosted by your MLS partner or at your site? • How will you review activities?
