16th Regional Science Consortium Annual Research Symposium Winners

The 16th Regional Science Consortium (RSC) Annual Research Symposium was held virtually in November of 2020, and two LECOM Master of Science in Biomedical Science/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine scholars emerged victorious.

Arjun Malhotra, OMS3, received First Place honors in the Graduate Student Poster Session for his presentation entitled, Developmental Trajectory of the Auditory Brainstem Response of the Valproic Acid Induced Rat Model of Autism.

Alyson Burchell, OMS2, also finished first. Her victory came in the Graduate Oral Session for her presentation entitled, Investigation of a Long-Range Glycinergic Projection from Brainstem Interneurons to the Thalamus.

Located on the shores of Lake Erie, the Erie, Pennsylvania-based RSC is a nonprofit organization that facilitates research, education, and collaborations among its members. The RSC is not directly affiliated with an institution, instead, it is a consortium of institutions seeking collaborations in scientific research.

Organized in 2004, the RSC moved into the research wing of the Tom Ridge Environmental Center prior to its opening in May of 2006. Since that time, the RSC has been an active part of the scientific research community fostering numerous collaborations on a variety of topics.

The goal of the organization and its participants is to make key researchers and others aware of important ongoing research and to initiate meaningful and productive scientific collaborations.

LECOM recognizes the fine work of its scholars and the College resoundingly praises their meaningful results.
