Object and behavior By limiting a way of usage, shape inform people how it works. Different shape give a high possibility of interpretation of object. We are educated and civilized, so we usually react to the object in a way we learn. Shape can simply induce people’s behavior and it is in other words, information how they can be used.

Meaning change of drinking over time
Why people drink tea or coffee? In the past, there was a specific manners that people have to follow while drinking tea in asia. It’s concerned as a process of cleaning the boday and spirit, and used as a self-displine. Not only for ourselves, but it’s also a process of showing their attitude and mind with respect others. People still drink tea or coffee to relax and to have social relation with people. However, nowadays everything is becoming fast, functional and convenience. Process is getting simple and we prefer a quick and easy treatment rather than follwing the traditional process which takes long time. Even cafes, which is made for drinking and meet people, are becoming a workplace or library in the cities. Conveniency brought proporous lifestye, but we need to think what we lost by getting conveniency.

Concept Drinking tea is concened as a process of using 5 senses. While we boil water, we listen to the sound. When we drink, we feel the warm temperature of the cup and see the color of tea. Also we smell and taste. Slow tea cup is a cup which people make them closer to the behavior of drinking. Wide opening make people smell and see, and unstable shape make people focuse on grabbing a cup while they drink.

Slow tea cup Everything is becoming fast, and process tend to become oversimplified in modern society. Conveniency is considered as rational and profitable. Beneath the surface however, we are losing intangible value which has supported human history. By looking at the complicated tea manners in Asia, we can find different meaning and perspective of drinking behavior itself. Slow tea cup 10
