CFDA PROJECT - JOE BLACKBOOK COMPETITION Design | Ideate | Illustrate
This collection was submitted to the Joe Blackbook scholarship competition and was designed around the possibility of fabric technology and manipulation.
THE TRIG COLLECTION THE TRIG COLLECTION COMBINES STRUCTURAL ANGLES WITH SWEEPING CURVES TO CREATE A FUTURISTIC STYLE. IT USES FLEXIBLE VINYL TRIANGULAR-BASED PYRAMIDS TO SIMULATE INTERACTIVE FABRIC DESIGN. THE VINYL PYRAMIDS CAN BE TRANSFORMED BY THE WEARER TO A CONCAVE OR CONVEX POSITION. THE SILHOUETTES ARE EXTREME, REQUIRING EXTENSIVE INNER STRUCTURE AND SUPPORT. THE TRIG COLLECTION USES A COMBINATION OF NON TRADITIONAL MATERIALS SUCH AS VINYL, NETTING, AND NEOPRENE PAIRED WITH WOOLS AND LACE. THE COLLECTION CALLS FOR A CONFIDENT WOMAN WHO STRIVES TO BE BOLD AND INDEPENDENT. THE TRIG COLLECTION IS A NEW WAVE OF FUTURISTIC DESIGN PARTNERING WITH WEARERGARMENT INTERACTION.
