Science laboratories Our recently installed science laboratories provide effective working spaces with work benches and modern equipment, to replicate a realistic working environment.

Technology Centre Home to motor vehicle, electrical, joinery and welding workshops, our purpose-built technology centre leads the way in innovation by providing a realistic working environment. Students have access to state-of-the-art equipment, including electrical installation booths and welding bays. Our centre also has a construction yard with a mixer and large working spaces to mirror a real-life work setting. Harrogate College is also home to an extensive library, fitness suites, professional kitchens, authentic photography studios, recently refurbished IT rooms and specialist art and design studios.

Bistro Our fully-equipped training bistro provides a contemporary dining experience to all students, staff and the public. Run by catering and hospitality students, industry expert chefs and tutors, the space allows students to gain valuable work experience and enjoy freshly prepared dishes.

Having STEM skills makes you very employable. Demand for people working in STEM is high and set to increase over the coming years. They also attract good salaries.

STEM refers to skills and knowledge from four subject areas: science, technology, engineering and mathematics. At Harrogate College, we offer courses at all levels with progression to higher level study built into our progression routes, right up to university level.

Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) If you’re a SEND student who requires specialist support, we can help in many ways. Our friendly team is on hand to ensure everyone has a positive experience at the college and their needs are supported.

You will excel in practical skills including communication, confidence building and problem solving, all in a commercial salon environment. You’ll study advanced treatments including body massage, stone therapy, Indian head massage, tanning and microdermabrasion. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT CIPD Certificate Level 5 Looking to lead the way in people management? This course offers a deep understanding of what is required to be a HR professional. You’ll learn about organisational challenges enabling you to develop analytical and problem solving skills. You’ll study employment regulation, recruitment and retention strategies. On successful completion, you’ll receive a recognised qualification enabling you to pursue a career in HR.

Study length: 24 weeks part-time. Entry requirements (at least one): Relevant qualification to NVQ level 3. Two A levels. Foundation level qualification from the CIPD Personnel or Training Practice CIPD Certificate. Higher level or equivalent award from professional body. Significant experience in HR. What’s next? Progression may include a level 7 qualification. Job opportunities: Any relevant HR role.

ACCOUNTING AAT Professional Diploma Level 4 Master your finance knowledge with this analytical course. You will develop the ability to evaluate financial decisions, follow ethical and procedural guidelines and understand the International Accounting Standards. You’ll also learn how to complete tax returns and end of year accounts for a limited company. Additionally, you’ll gain membership of a professional body.

ACCOUNTING AAT Advanced Diploma Level 3 Pursue a career in finance with this technical programme. You’ll develop specialist knowledge and skills across six units including advanced bookkeeping, final accounts preparation, and management accounting. This course is suitable for both school leavers and adult learners. Learners must have a good understanding of the double-entry bookkeeping system.
