GET FREAKY EXHIBITION PROJECT. Supertexte, artist, curator and one director of GetFreaky magazine, based in France, and Lee Mei Yan, artist, graphic designer, and director of Myjane studio, based in Hong Kong, are pleased to work jointly on an international graphic art exhibition project, gathering over 25 artists from the field of fine art, street art, graphic design and illustration. Getfreaky, a fanzine born in northern France, suggested there 2 years ago a concept bringing together parties, openings and concerts celebrating the release of an illustration magazine, where international artists, in this new object, find themselves similarities between images from the 4 corners of the world. Became a real team, followed by more and more artists around the world, Getfreaky began to organize exhibitions of original paintings, drawings and silkscreens in Europe. After Lille, where is based this edition, and some places in north of France, the Get freaky exhibitions was visible in important European cities like Bruxelles and Berlin. The Name of Getfreaky is not known as only a fanzine anymore, but also an itinerant art gallery. With many contributions of Asian artists, from Japan, China, Taiwan, Philippines or Thailand since the beginning of this story, a future connection with the toot young gallery and the BACC in Bangkok, the Asian continent is now the second important place working with us. That’s why the curators of getfreaky and Lee Mei Yan are interested to work together, and they project to organize the first Getfreaky exhibition in the Asian continent. The facilities between the both organizations, and the help of Anjo Bolarda, bring us together to search a gallery in China, one of the most important cutural country in Asia. We suggest to bring an art selection of artists working with Getfreaky, we focused on emerging and young artists with a strong personality, who participate in the creation of fanzines, graphic art, street art, exhibitions, and who are initiators of projects in their respective countries.
