SIMON CASSON Br itish, bo r n 1965

Simon Casson reinterprets the classical Western tradition of figurative painting for a contemporary audience. Much like the Old Masters, the artist explores diverse historical and mythological themes, yet he presents his lushly painted subjects as deconstructed by the defiant energy of gestural abstraction. While literally dragging his fingers thru the paint, Casson stirs up the surface of his paintings, creating a mystifying collage of imagery that stimulate our eyes and minds all at once.

Casson studied at the Royal Academy of London and his paintings have received great success all across Europe and the United States. A highly decorated artist, he has been honored with the Daley Rowney Award for Innovation from the Mall Galleries, the Royal Academy Medal for Painting and the Creswick Prize for Landscape Painting from the Royal Academy Schools in London. CAROLE FEUERMAN A mer ican

Carole Feuerman’s work is motivated by questions about the nature of reality and her remarkable skill as a figurative sculptor leads the viewer to the same questions. Yet beyond the realistic stance of her works, Feuerman also manages to convey the energy, the intense physicality, the passion and sensuality of the seemingly mundane pose.

This celebrated New York artist is acknowledged alongside Duane Hanson and John D'Andrea as one of the major American hyperrealist sculptors. Her works are part of many prestigious private and public collections, most notably the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Frederic R. Weisman Art Foundation, the Malcolm Forbes Magazine Collection and the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia. New innovative works in resin and mixed media are in progress for upcoming exhibitions in 2007 at the Centro in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the Circulo De Bellas Artes in Madrid, Spain. WARNER FRIEDMAN A mer ican, bo r n 1935

Much like Monet, Warner Friedman is a painter of light. Friedman, however, carefully constructs every angle of his paintings, from the irregularly shaped surfaces to the angled three-dimensional view that deftly capture a sliver of nature as seen through stationary architectural elements. Teasing the eye, Friedman’s serene landscapes masterfully combine illusion with reality as they seductively lure the viewer into meditative reverie. Warner Friedman lives in Sheffield, Massachusetts, a town whose quaint charm provides a constant source of inspiration for the artist. He has been widely exhibited throughout the United States, most notably at the Wadsworth Athenaeum in Hartford Connecticut, the Corcoran Gallery in Washington DC, the Fort Lauderdale and the Boca Raton Art Museums in Florida. PATRICK HUGHES Br itish, bo r n 1939

Whimsical, visually engaging, surprisingly familiar, Patrick Hughes’ wall reliefs are unusual hybrids of painting and sculpture, witty ruminations on the history of art, perspective and Surrealism. Playing with perspective, optical illusions, and figure-ground relationships the artist creates engaging tr o mpe l’o eil sceneries that confound our senses. As the viewer moves around the carefully crafted paintings, the perspective of these “impossible objects” changes continuously inviting curious introspection. This world-renowned British artist lives in London and has also written numerous books on visual and verbal rhetoric. Hughes’ paintings have earned international acclaim as part of exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Russia, Korea, United States, and Canada and prestigious museum collections such as the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Tate Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. JEREMY KIDD Br itish, bo r n 1962

Jeremy Kidd’s fictional realities present dramatic details of notable architectural landmarks photographed from all different angles while recreated, expanded, minimized, deleted and multiplied. Disorientating, yet closer to the way we actually catch glimpses of and interpret our own surroundings, these photographic panoramas speak of what the camera saw, yet simultaneously translate the artist’s personalized perceptions. Jeremy Kidd's work is currently represented in London, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York and has been exhibited at the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in Ridgefield, CT, the Orange County Museum of Art in Los Angeles, the Irvine Fine Arts Center in Irvine, CA, and the Deutsche Bank in London. The artist is preparing an upcoming exhibition at the Laguna Art Museum in Laguna Beach CA. Jeremy Kidd resides in Venice, CA. C hr ysler 1 2006
