Registering for Classes Students are registered as a collaborative effort between their regional coordinator and the Office of the Registrar. Registration for spring semester typically takes place in late October or early November. Registration for fall semester typically takes place in April. Grades Student grades are maintained in Sakai and may be viewed at any time during the semester. Final grades are available at the end of exam week each semester.
What is FERPA • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) • A federal law that applies to educational agencies and institutions that receive funding under a program administered by the U.S. Department of Education. • FERPA gives parents certain rights with respect to their children's education records until age 18. • These rights transfer to the student when he or she reaches the age of 18 or attends a college or university. Student Rights and Responsibilities Each student at Lees-McRae College is expected to reflect a seriousness of purpose and a desire to acquire an education.,. Respect and honesty should be shown to all students and College employees. Students are also expected to demonstrate an ability to take care of his/her own welfare and to behave in a way that supports their own growth and academic advancement, while not impeding growth of others. Conduct on and off campus should reflect these standards. Academic Honesty Policy Lees-McRae endeavors to foster a spirit of complete honesty and a high standard of integrity. The attempt of any student to present as their work that which he or she has not honestly performed is regarded by the faculty and administration as a most serious offense and renders the offender liable to severe consequences and possible suspension. The College expects that all students will refrain from the following: Cheating, collusion, lying, plagiarism and stealing.
