FAFSA All online learning students must complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to determine any federal or state need-based aid eligibility, including Federal Direct Loans. Please file the 2015-2016 FAFSA using your 2014 Federal Income Tax Returns and W-2s. Make sure you include the Lees-McRae school code of 002939. You must file a renewal FAFSA each academic year.

To apply for financial aid at Lees-McRae College: • Submit a completed admissions application to the Admissions Office. Applicants must be accepted as a degree seeking student before aid will be awarded. • Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov (Include the Lees-McRae College School code of 002939). The application should be submitted as soon after January 1 as possible and by April 15 for priority consideration. • You must re-file the FAFSA each academic year. • Approximately 30% of all FAFSA filers are randomly selected for a process called verification. This process requires that additional information be submitted to the LeesMcRae College Office of Financial Aid and the use of the IRS Data Retrieval tool.

Refunds Tuition, Room and Board Fees If written notification of a decision not to enroll is received by the Student Financial Services Office prior to the first day of classes, all paid fees (exclusive of the enrollment deposit) are completely refunded. Thereafter, tuition and general fees are refunded on a prorated basis during the first four weeks of the term. Any part of a week is considered a full week. No refund will be made if a student withdraws after the fourth week. No part of the room fee is refundable. Refunds for the cost of meals are prorated upon withdrawal. Financial Aid Packets Upon your acceptance to Lees-McRae College and the receipt of your FAFSA data, your comprehensive financial aid package will be mailed to your home address. Traditionally, students borrow from the Direct Loan program to meet their out-of-pocket costs. Your loan eligibility and loan request information will be included in your Financial Aid Award Notification.
