Appleton Campbell gets top honor

Local business Appleton Campbell is a recipient of the prestigious President’s Award from Carrier for the eighth year in a row. This award recognizes outstanding dealers in the heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) industry.
One of Carrier's highest honors for its dealers, The President’s Award is given to Carrier Factory Authorized Dealers who achieve excellence in product promotions and deliver superior customer satisfaction. Appleton Campbell is one of the seven recipients of the award in Virginia.
Recipients of this award demonstrate the very best in operational excellence, business e ectiveness and the delivery of cutting-edge technology and service to its customers.
“Appleton Campbell demonstrates technical expertise, while also serving as a leader in promoting the Carrier brand and raising the standard of equipment sales. This company exemplifi es service excellence and provides exceptional customer care,” the Warrenton-based fi rm said in a news release.

Culpeper Times won multiple Virginia Press Association awards for both editorial and advertising work completed in 2021.
Culpeper Times Publisher/Sales Director Thomas Spargur, Creative Services Director Jay Ford, Sales Executive Audra Dickey, Paginator Chris Six and former Culpeper Times Editor Josh Gully placed fi rst place for Slick Publications for Culpeper Chamber Magazine. Spargur, Ford, Dickey and Gully also won fi rst in Special Sections for Soap Box Derby.
In second place, Spargur, Ford and Dickey along with Culpeper Times Editor Maria Basileo, featured writer Je ery Mitchell and freelance photographer Tim Hickling won second place in Slick Publications for FACES of Culpeper.
Among editorial, Basileo received second place for her News Writing Portfolio, primarily for her coverage of the Culpeper Police Department's Co-Responder Program.
Hickling also won third place in General News Photo for a photo of former Town Councilman Jon Russell on Election Night.
Culpeper Times's parent company InsideNoVa received 31 overall awards in the VPA’s annual competition, including 11 fi rst-place prizes.
One of InsideNoVa’s sister publications, the Rappahannock News, won the news sweepstakes award among the state’s second smallest group of non-daily papers.
It also won Best in Show awards for graphics and illustrations and for online photography among non-daily newspapers.
