Nate Bopp — Eastern View High School
Nate Bopp became the principal of Eastern View High School. Bopp transferred to EVHS to fi ll a vacancy created when Dr. Felix Addo resigned in March. He has 16 years of experience in public education, all with Culpeper County Public Schools. He started his career as a math teacher at FTB. After teaching at FTB, he became the Assistant Principal at Culpeper Middle School. In January 2017, he was promoted to principal of FTB. Bopp earned a B.A. in History from the University of Mary Washington, a master’s in education leadership from Shenandoah University and recently earned his doctorate in education leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech.
Andrea Kilby — Floyd T. Binns Middle School
Andrea Kilby became the principal of Floyd T. Binns Middle School, stepping up from her former role as assistant principal. Kilby has been in the education fi eld for 22 years, all with CCPS. She has been an AP for the last 10 years, six years at FTB and prior to that, she was the AP at Pearl Sample Elementary. Before becoming an administrator, Kilby taught English at Culpeper County High School for seven years and EVHS, where she was the department chair and SIM Facilitator for 4 years. She started her career in CCPS as a long-term sub at CMS teaching Spanish and ESL. Kilby is a graduate of Culpeper County High School. She earned her B.A. from Radford University and received her master’s degree in education administration from Shenandoah University.
Pam Gatewood — Floyd T. Binns Middle School
Pamela Gatewood returned to the role of assistant principal at FTB, fi lling the position created by Andrea Kilby’s promotion to principal. Gatewood has dedicated 32 years of service to Culpeper County Public Schools including 13 years teaching U.S. History and Civics, 10 at CMS and three at FTB. In addition to teaching, she was an AP at CMS for two years and FTB for 14 years and she was the Principal of Emerald Hill Elementary School for three years. Gatewood is a graduate of Culpeper County High School. She earned her B.A. in political science from Hampton University and master’s in education from Virginia Tech.
Khaled El-Nemr — Eastern View High School
Khaled El-Nemr transferred from his former role of assistant principal of Floyd T. Binns Middle School to assistant principal of Eastern View High School. El-Nemr has 14 years’ experience in public education, all with Culpeper County Public Schools. He started as a math and science teacher for middle and high school at the Alternative Education Program for one year, then taught algebra and geometry at FTB for nine years before becoming the assistant principal at FTB in 2018. He earned his B.S. in mathematics and physics with a minor in computer science and concentration in statistics from Roanoke College. He earned an M.S. in materials science at the University of Alabama, recently earned his doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from Virginia Tech.
Renee Wootten — Culpeper County Public Schools Administration
Renee Wootten, the former principal of Farmington Elementary School, became the Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) Curriculum Specialist for K-12 Math and Science. She fi lls a vacancy created by the retirement of Sue Jenkins. Wootten has 30 years of experience in public education. She taught for 12 years, kindergarten and 5th grade in Orange County Public Schools. In CCPS, she has six years’ experience as assistant principal at Emerald Hill, Sycamore Park and CMS. She served as principal of Emerald Hill for six years and principal of Farmington for the last four years. Wootten earned a B.A. in sociology and a master’s in teaching from the University of Virginia.
Jack Glick — Farmington Elementary School
Jack Glick became the principal at Farmington Elementary School, stepping up from his former role as assistant principal. Glick has been in the education fi eld for 29 years, all but his fi rst year with CCPS. He has been an AP for the last eight years, two years at Eastern View High School, two years at Pearl Sample elementary and the last four years at Farmington. Glick earned a B.A. from James Madison University and received a master’s degree in instructional technology from Troy State University.

Alyson Hokanson became assistant Principal of Pearl Sample Elementary School. Hokanson has 11 years of experience in public education, all with Culpeper County Public Schools. She started her career as a Special Education Teacher at Pearl Sample for four years. For the last seven years, she has been an autism teacher at Culpeper Middle School. Hokanson earned a B.A. in communication science and disorders from the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s in special education leadership from Carlow University.
Karrie Shackleton — Culpeper Middle School
Karrie Shackleton became assistant principal at Culpeper Middle School. Shackleton has 13 years’ experience in public education. She taught math for three years in Spotsylvania County, and has been with Orange County Public Schools for the last ten years where she has taught math, special education and history. She earned her B.S. in psychology, M.A. in education at Liberty University. She is currently working on her doctorate.
Maci Lane — Emerald Hill Elementary School
Maci Lane became the new assistant principal at Emerald Hill Elementary, fi lling the position created by the retirement of Valerie Meza. Lane has seven years’ experience in education. She comes to CCPS from Madison County Public Schools where she has been a 2nd grade teacher, a 6th grade math teacher and the gifted coordinator. Lane earned her B.S. in liberal studies and a master’s in teaching from James Madison University.
Corey Stiver — Floyd T. Binns Middle School
Corey Stiver became the new administrative intern at Floyd T. Binns (FTB) Middle School. Stiver has taught 7th and 8th grade social studies at FTB for fi ve years. Stiver grew up in Pennsylvania and earned his B.S. in middle level education with a concentration in social studies from Slippery Rock University. He has completed coursework for a Master’s degree in Education Leadership from James Madison University.
Donovan O’Brien became the executive director of operations. O’Brien has 22 years’ experience in public education beginning with one year teaching at the Culpeper Juvenile Correction Center. He then went to CCPS and taught social studies for nine years, one at Culpeper Middle School and eight years at Culpeper County High School. The last four years, he has been the CCPS Director of Instructional Delivery. He earned a B.A. in history from Virginia Commonwealth University, a master’s degree in instructional technology from Troy University, and an Ed.S. and doctorate degree in educational leadership, both from Liberty University. O’Brien fi lls the vacancy created by the resignation of Dr. Stacey Timmons.
Chuck Toler moved on from his role of assistant principal at Culpeper County High School to become the Phoenix Alternative Education Administrator. The Phoenix Alternative Education program is located in the “building in the middle” of CCHS and Culpeper Middle School. Toler has 32 years of experience in public education, the last 16 as assistant principal at CCHS. Prior to coming to Culpeper, he taught special education, alternative education, and health and P.E. in Fairfax and Prince William counties. Toler earned a B.S in education from George Mason University, a M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction from George Mason University. He fi lled a vacancy created by the resignation of Jody Place.

Rose Constantini became the assistant principal at Farmington Elementary School. She replaces Jack Glick, who was promoted to principal at Farmington. Constantini has fi ve years’ experience in public education. Constantini taught English at Massaponax High School in Spotsylvania County for two years before coming to Eastern View High School (EVHS) where she taught English for two years and has been the testing coordinator this past year. She earned a B.A in English from Randolph Macon College. She recently completed her master’s degree in education leadership from James Madison University
Steven Bagley, Jr. became the director of transportation operations. Bagley has fi ve years’ experience in public education transportation in Falls Church City and Loudoun County. He has served in a variety of roles in the transportation department including bus driver, dispatcher, Medicaid and ESY program assistant and most recently transportation coordinator. He holds a CDL Class B license. Bagley holds a bachelor’s degree in religion/ ministry from Luther Rice University, a master’s degree in leadership from Luther Rice College and an AAS in interior design from Tidewater Community College.
Adam Pawlowski — Assistant Principal at CMS
Adam Pawlowski joined the Culpeper Middle School administrative team as assistant principal. Pawlowski has 12 years of experience in public education. The last seven years, he has served as the director of student activities at Rachel Carson Middle School in Fairfax County. Pawlowski earned a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s in administration education leadership from George Mason University.
Andrew Chrismer — Culpeper County High School
Andrew Chrismer became the new assistant principal at Culpeper County High School, replacing Chuck Toler, who transferred from his role at CCHS to become the Phoenix Alternative Education Administrator. Chrismer has ten years’ experience in public education including seven years as a health & PE Teacher in Fairfax, Spotsylvania and Augusta counties. Chrismer holds a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education PK12 from Bridgewater College and a master’s in education leadership from the University of Mary Washington.

Culpeper Times introduces a new section called (M)y (E)xperience. ME is a print/ short video project where local people give their first-hand insight into life challenges others may be experiencing for the first time. Topics will range from parenthood, drug addiction, divorce and retirement, all with a goal of putting faces to abstract topics.
