B E ING RURAL / M E RLINS Working with two classes (Merlins Y1 & Hawks Y5) using LearnPads in and around school environment. Focus shall be on improving creative story telling, history, science, literacy and ICT skills. Merlins: Y1 (9.30am - 12.00) Y1 (Merlins / Mrs Stracey): Split the class 23 pupils into 4 groups and work with them using LearnPads ‘Animated It!’, the video camera and sound recorder applications on ‘The Princess & The White Bear King’. The finished animations, video and sound recordings shall then be editied on Windows Movie Maker. The groups will storyboard a section of the story, animate and film. Group 1 filming: Dreaming of crown / animation: Bear King taking princess away Group 2 filming: talking to mother animation: candle / prince changing to bear Group 3 filming: prince going from hut to hut animation: prince climbing mountain Group 4 filming: seeing princess asleep animation: troll queen turning to stone / dancing party

Hawks: Y5 (1.15pm - 3.30pm) Y5 (Hawks / Mrs Reilly): Split 23 pupils into 4 groups and work with the groups using LearnPads ‘Animate It!’ and sound recroder applications to animated their section of Egyptology using class materials.
