Just turn up and your tent will be ready and waiting, simply unpack your belongings and bedding from the car and let your holiday begin. With two types to choose from you can bring as much or as little with you as you like.

This brand new area, due to open in June 2014, will boast a central brick fire pit and separate bbq areas plus picnic benches - a great place to socialise. The well stocked site shop will sell a range of food for the bbq so it couldn’t be easier. If you’re part of a large group this area can be reserved in advance, just advise us when making your site reservations. 5

The site is located on a tranquil bend in the River Lee and overflowing with opportunities to wind down, relax and get away from the daily grind. Outdoor lovers will be spoilt for choice with miles of cycling and walking routes, wildlife watching, a 1,000 acre country park and a riverside pub right on your doorstep. Those who are hooked on fishing will be able to take advantage of the riverbank fishing at the site. If you’re looking for a bigger catch then use your Lee Valley Camping Card to take advantage of our day ticket fisheries offer valid on nearby fishing lakes where Carp take pride of place. If you fancy taking in the history of the area then why not pop down to Hatfield House and Knebworth House or the market towns of Hoddesdon, Ware, Waltham Abbey and Hertford. A range of luxury static caravans are also available to be purchased which allow you to benefit from an 11 month holiday season.

However you choose to stay, we’re sure you’ll enjoy our generously spaced pitches, well stocked shop, modern toilet and shower block, electrical hook up, caravan storage, new BBQ area (June 2014) and WiFi. The site is a great base for day trips to London and Cambridge, with Broxbourne station just a 10 minute drive away. Your site fee includes FREE car parking near the train station. In less than 30 minutes you could be standing near Big Ben or within an hour exploring historic sites of Cambridge.

The picturesque countryside campsite that’s handy for central London too… You’ll be spoilt for choice for outdoor pursuits, with miles of traffic free trails for cycling and walking enthusiasts to take advantage of in addition to great nature reserves, fishing and boating facilities. Why not visit Gunpowder Park a perfect location for wildlife watching or just having a picnic in the fresh air, or the beautiful Epping Forest with its acres of woodland, grassland, heath, rivers and ponds. For those looking for an adrenalin fix then Lee Valley White Water Centre cannot be missed. Having played host to the London 2012 Olympic Games Canoe Slalom events, this grade 4 course will have you tackling the same rapids that tested the best athletes in the world.

If the bright lights of London catch your fancy then you can be at the heart of it within 40 minutes via bus and Underground. To make it easier we also sell London Travelcards in our shop. Other facilities on this site include electrical hook ups, hard standings, licensed site shop, laundry with ironing facilities, heated shower blocks and toilets plus a children’s playground. With pitches perfect for tents, motorhomes and caravans you’ll have no trouble in setting up camp. Alternatively you could choose to stay in a cosy cocoon or family woodland cabin and make your stay that extra bit special. The site also has a dedicated area for privately owned luxury static caravans which benefit from an 11 month holiday season.

Slip away to this peaceful site that’s within easy reach of central London and Cambridge. Situated in north London, Lee Valley Camping and Caravan Park will offer you the option of taking in the capitals iconic sights such as Oxford Street, Buckingham Palace or in less than an hour you could be visiting historical sites or punting down the River Cam in Cambridge. To make it easier we also sell London Travelcards in our shop.

Within the complex visitors will also find an 18 hole golf course, a restaurant and if you fancy sitting back and watching a film then you can visit the Odeon Cinema which shows the latest releases. Pony trekking and ice skating activities are also located nearby to keep you or your family entertained. It’s safe to say that one stay may not be enough to do everything that’s on offer. By bus: W8 stops at the site and connects to Edmonton Green Rail Station. By train: nearest rail stations are Ponders End and Edmonton Green on the Liverpool Street Line. YHA London Lee Valley Cheshunt, Hertfordshire

Looking for that perfect getaway with the family or a group of friends? Then YHA London Lee Valley in Cheshunt could be for you. Set in the 1,000 acre River Lee Country Park the YHA (Youth Hostel Association) has a long history of providing affordable accommodation in special places and this site is no different. Make yourself at home in one of our five Scandinavian-style lodges which offer ensuite rooms in twin, double and family formats. The creature comfort of Free View TV is available in our lounge areas, whilst a licensed restaurant, laundry facilities, internet access and bike hire are also available on site. It will come as no surprise that bird and wildlife watching, walking, cycling and fishing activities are available here in abundance. You’ll also find an orienteering course and an outdoor activity centre at the Herts Young Mariners Base just a stone’s throw away from the site.

In addition to this you can also visit the animals at Lee Valley Park Farms, take on the rapids at Lee Valley White Water Centre, be challenged in a game of Disc Golf or cruise down the River Lee on a hired boat from Lee Valley Boat Centre. If this is not enough for you then why not jump on the train for 20 minutes and enjoy the delights of London.

Lee Valley Boat Centre, Riverside Chalets Broxbourne, Hertfordshire

Embrace the peace and quiet of the countryside at a riverside chalet.

Located on Mill Stream which is a tributary of the River Lee, these riverside chalets provide the perfect platform for you to enjoy long walks, observe the wildlife, play golf, cycle, fish and the take opportunity to become a captain for the day on your own boat. Boats are available to hire at Lee Valley Boat Centre but if you fancy a tour of River Lee in luxury then why not step aboard the ‘Lady of Lee Valley’ passenger boat, where we promise not to make you walk the plank.

If you’d like to cycle the park’s miles to traffic-free trails a range of bikes can be hired from Lee Valley Canoe Cycle at Broxbourne Riverside, just opposite the chalets. The chalets come fully equipped with a microwave and a hob, eating and cooking utensils, fridge, colour TV, shower and toilet, plus heating should you need it. To ensure you get a good nights sleep we also provide bedding too.
