LQ BID has championed sustainable urban regeneration since its inception. Our 2019 regeneration vision laid the groundwork for improved green and social space across the District, with a focus on active travel and enhanced sustainability. In 2020 we started working in partnership with DfI, DfC and the City Council to re-imagine public realm. Our aim is to:

1) create social & recreational space for people who live, work in or visit the area;

2) improve outdoor trading space for local hospitality; and

3) create visually attractive facilities that enhance the sense of destination.

• Tree wrap lighting, along with a Tree wrap lighting, along with a court for French Boules, to support outdoor hospitality at Blackstaff

Square. • A 43m x 9m deck at Brunswick St to include over 150 covers for outdoor dining, as well as a games area and entertainment stage. • A new lighting projection and overhead lights at both Brunswick

St and James St South.

In addition, the City Council is leading a project to extend the pavements at Adelaide St and install new benches, planting, and outdoor art. LQ BID also support improved cycling infrastructure and facilities across the district, including the introduction of a cycling greenway linking the proposed Ormeau Park – Gasworks bridge with Queen’s University and Great Victoria Street Train Station.
