LIGHT SPRING | CUE 2017 INTERNATIONAL LIGHT DESIGN COMPETITION
Portfolio | Feng Le 04
Due to Toronto’s extreme wintery weather, it restricts and limits the amount of time that people can spend outdoors. Thus, leading to isolation of the beach and lack of social interactions. The purpose of the design aims to transform the beach into an all y4ear glamorous tourist
attraction that not only creates a communal space but also improves interaction in a warm and welcoming environment. A dis shape is chosen for this design because it is circular flat and light reflective, which allows light to be easily transmitted and draws attention. Warmth is the main feature that keeps visitors in the space. Hence, haptic devices are inserted within the poles of the design to detect human presence, which on one hand generates and regulates
heat automatically, and on the other hand, lights up the diss and radiates the space.
THE OPEN HOUSE| MARVIN 2018 STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION
Portfolio | Feng Le 07
The open house is centered around the concept of diffusion of space, where the distinction of the interior and exterior are blurred through a series of interconnected courtyards. The design aims to create a nature-induced lifestyle which focuses on the connection between people and their environments a concept unseen in traditional design strategies. The interior courtyards provide a shared space between people and other natural organisms, to create less disturbance
on local ecosystems. I have designed a home that provides a true sensorial experience which allows the user to connect to the roots of the landscape. Using Marvin Windows, I aim to provide a smooth transition between these two opposing environments.

[SITE PLAN]
This house is design based on the two inhabits, a reclusive writer/ psychologist and his son (teenager). The House is situated on 251 Macpherson avenue, Toronto. The house demands for two contrasting programs: a domestic space and a working space. These programs require a certain degree of separation while at the same time the connectivity of the home should be maintained. The key site feature is the railway beside it

NEST | ARC201 COURSE
Portfolio | Feng Le 15
The “Nest” is a project that takes inspiration from structural composition of various bird’s nest. The structure features three hierarch of structural elements that is based on a system of supports. The sixteen columns act as the primary structural element from which anchoring points for the secondary structural elements which are located
on the sides and establish the overall form of the project. From their tertiary structures grow from the secondary structures to make up the facades of the structure and provides a sense of cover through its dense overlap.
