SPARE PARTS FESTIVAL FREE ARTS FESTIVAL IN ASSOCIATION WITH FLEETWOOD FESTIVAL OF TRANSPORT

WELCOME TO SPAREPARTS SpareParts is a new transport inspired arts festival taking place in Fleetwood this summer. Developed in conjunction with Fleetwood’s world famous festival of transport (Tram Sunday), the festival is designed to capture the imagination of audiences who attend this already well established event. Over twenty different artists will be performing in a range of different locations around Fleetwood – check the timetable to make sure you don’t miss out on the free programme of events. SpareParts has been brought to you by LeftCoast in partnership with the Fleetwood Festival of Transport and Wyre Council with additional support from Without Walls. LeftCoast is a new arts programme across Blackpool and Wyre that aims to get more people inspired and involved in arts activities of all kinds. It is funded by Arts Council England and a consortium of partners across Blackpool and Wyre. WHATS ON Acrojou - WHEELHOUSE An exciting performance centred around a stunning rolling house featuring theatrical acrobatics and moments of breath-taking risk, all housed within an exquisite wheeled structure. 3 12:30pm, 3:00pm
The Bobbysocks TRANSPORT ACAPELLA The Bobbysocks are an all-girl acapella group who will be performing a transport inspired blend of swing, boogie-woogie and alt country tunes; creating a mash up of contemporary tunes with 1940’s classics. Various times and locations
Boz & Mr D LIVE PAINT & WORKSHOPS Graffiti artists Boz & Mr D will be showcasing their love of street art, by creating a mock up New York subway, through their talent for graffiti. There will also be two small cardboard subway trains for children to get creative with and paint. 7 All day

Culture Cart - LINO CUTTING A pop-up art workshop and gallery travelling throughout the UK on a handcrafted cart pulled by a vintage bicycle. The Culture Cart will host pop-up lino printing workshops throughout the festival, creating prints of vintage vehicles and transportation. 0 All day
Curious Cargo LOLLIPOP PATROL Cross them at your peril! With excessive enthusiasm and a slippery grip on reality, SpareParts welcomes Lollipop Patrol. Experience their traffic trauma and comedic nature, as they walkabout through the festival. 4 11:00am

Dan Fox - BOOM BIKES The Boom Bikes are pedal powered music machines, with mobile battery powered sound systems built onto tricycles providing pop up stages all over Fleetwood 4 1:00pm 9 2:30pm 3 4:30pm
Daniel Weaver - SPANNERMAN A mobile showcase of instruments made from recycled and found materials. This includes a xylophone made from spanners, singing bowls, musical cutlery gongs and other strung oddities. 0 12:00pm & 2:00pm 7 4:00pm
Dead Good Poets TRANSPOETATION PERFORMANCE A special performance of slam tram and vintage verse from the one and only Dead Good poets. Special guest Trevor Meaney with warm up from Steve Stroud in the Mount Pavilion. On moving trams thoughout the day 7 5:45pm
Impossible Theatre CHROMAVAN Chromavan is showcasing a unique colour experience, housed in a caravan using innovative lighting technology. Enter the caravan for the ultimate colour experience. 3 All day
Motionhouse - TRACTION Motionhouse will be providing one of the highlights of the festival with Traction. A stunning Transformers-esque performance featuring six dancers intertwining with three JCB diggers from this internationally established company. Don’t miss it. 5 1:00pm & 5:15pm
More Music MUSICAL INTRODUCTION From instant ukulele orchestras to songwriting and samba bands workshops, the first Mount Pavilion Artists in residence, More Music from Morecambe will be at SpareParts to say hello. 1 1:00pm, 2:30pm & 4:00pm

Pablo Perrezarate FUTURE TRANSPORT SpareParts is bringing you the chance to travel through time! Audiences will be immersed in a dreamy cloud of futuristic sounds, music and light, featuring the dreams of Fleetwood residents about travelling into the future. 2 All day
PifPaf FLYCYCLE & SUBMERCYCLE A roaming piece of interactive theatre, bringing your imagination to life! Participants choose a ‘travelling companion’, are dressed in costume straight from the trunk and are whisked away on a magical trip. 3 12:30pm & 4:30pm
Rag and Bone PANDEMONIUM A processional whirlwind for town and street combining eccentric human powered vehicles and kinetic contraptions, live brass and percussion and performers. A highly energetic and animated parade not to be missed. The parade starts at 3.30pm at London Street.

Red Fort Studios CHUTNEY IN THE STREET Looking for a taste of Indo-Carribbean culture and popular music? Well look no further, Chutney in the Street brings professional musicians, singers and dancers to tell the story of a stranger who lifts the demon’s curse over a lost village and eventually wins the love of the Princess. 3 2:00pm & 4:00pm
Shane Johnstone CYCLOGRAPHIC SPLODGEAMATIC Introducing the Cyclographic-Splodge-a-Matic Spin Painting Machine - a human powered live performance painting machine which produces spiral spin paintings in the style of the popular 1970’s vintage toy “Spirograph”. 7 All day
SSoCiaL - Roll ‘N’ Rock Are you a responsible driver? The SSoCiaL ROLL’N’ROCK is a communal push parade of 20 flagged and numbered shopping trolleys, wheeled from start to finish with the help and members of the public. During the parade, participants will be rewarded for their hard labour with a limited edition rock sweet, colour co-ordinated and numbered with their trolley. As part of the parade.

Squirrel & Tiffin - TRAMERA OBSCURA & TERRARIUM TRAM Blackpool based artist Linzi Cason transforms two heritage trams into immersive art installations. Tramera Obscura allowing you to see views of Fleetwood unlike you have ever seen before. Pop in next door for tea in a knitted wonderland with the Terrarium Tram. 8 All day
Talking Birds THE WHALE A giant metal whale on wheels that swallows audiences whole to enjoy a charming playful, and submersive theatre experience inside. Performed by a solo actor, for one person at a time or for small family groups. 7 All day
Thingumajig PEDAL POWERED ANIMALS A series of amazing pedal powered puppets including a mechanical hippo, an automated beetle, a bicycle fish, a pedal powered swan and a Bee Carousel. Come join in the fun. 4 12:30pm 6 2:00pm

Tin Box Theatre PINT DREAMS Pint Dreams is a storytelling and puppetry performance with live Irish folk music. The show tells the story of Edith, a pub landlady who lives by the sea, as she goes on her journey through love and life. 1 12:30pm, 2:00pm & 3:30pm
Urban Playground INNER CITY A transport inspired performance parkour show featuring contemporary and urban dance with parkour (free-running). Additional performances at 4pm from young people from Blackpool and Wyre who have been working with the company for the past two weeks. 7 1:30pm & 4:00pm
Vanessa Card LANTERN WORKSHOPS Artist Vanessa Card has been working with Shakespeare Primary School to make a movable piece of Art for the SpareParts parade, a fantastical creature on wheels. Come along for a drop in lantern making workshop to make your own lantern on the day 7 All day
