ADMINISTRATION
KEVIN MOSLEY - HEAD OF SCHOOL
Dear Cherished Guest:
Welcome to the campus of Legacy Christian Academy! LCA has faithfully been serving the Christian families of Frisco and North Texas for 24 years. What a joy to gather together as a community to enjoy the talents and commitments of our young people in competition and performance. We believe that a well-rounded education through athletics and the arts teaches God’s truth through experiences in teamwork, goal-setting, hard work, commitment to a common purpose, perseverance through failure, pressure of executed performance, etc. The growth opportunities provided by these activities often go beyond what can be taught in a formal classroom. We cherish these teachable moments in the lives of our students.
These opportunities would not be possible without the commitment of our coaches and sponsors. Research tells us that young people today value the wise words of an adult mentor. These cochces and sponsors provide countless hours of investment into the lives of our students. The relationship of adult mentors and the living curriculum provided by them are powerful. I trust you will express your gratitude to them for their dedication in loving and training our students.
We pray you enjoy your time on our campus. We ask that you cheerfully celebrate the effort of your students, enthusiastically cheer for them, and respectfully treat our officials with grace while modeling good sportsmanship for all. May God richly bless you and your family.
Growing Together,
Kevin L. Mosley, M.Ed. Head of School“Building strong leaders with Biblical convictions”
Welcome to another exciting 2023-24 school year for Eagles Athletics and Legacy Christian Academy! If you are brand new to Legacy, I want to extend my gratitude for your partnership as we seek to live out our mission whether in the classroom, on the court, or out on the field. Legacy has a rich history of developing championship teams which we are very proud of, but most importantly, we want to develop the mind, heart, soul, and body to live for the glory of Christ.
Much like Paul’s admonition in Philippians, we want to raise champions who do not cross the finish line for just an earthly prize but to equip them to seek that which is eternal. We are grateful for our student-athletes, coaches, support staff, and parents who invest in our athletics programs, and we invite you to pray with us together as we strive for excellence and make His name famous.
Growing Champions Together for Christ,
Jeff Veal US PrincipalLYNN DUPREE - SENIOR DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITIES
2022-2023 was a banner year for EAGLE NATION! With three team State Championships; Cheer, Boys Soccer, and Softball going back-to-back, one team State Runner Up; Girls tennis, a third place finish; Girls golf, individual State Championship; Girls doubles tennis, and an individual State Runner Up in Girls singles tennis! Twelve student-athletes signed to play collegiate sport at the next level. Twenty teams advanced into the post-season and we had multiple All-District, Academic All-State, All-State, Offensive Players of the Year, Defensive Players of the Year, Newcomers of the Year, National Qualifiers, and Coaches of the Year…the Eagles are SOARING!
We are excited as we move into the 2023–24 school year and it is a pleasure to work with each of you. Thank you to everyone who placed ads in our Media Guides! Your support helps us promote our players and coaches in Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Cheer, Basketball, Soccer, Swimming, Baseball, Softball, Track, Tennis, Golf, and Sporting Clays. These sports are coached by fifty-six of the finest coaches in America. We have a coaching staff that loves Jesus Christ and enjoys teaching your sons and daughters how to compete to glorify our Lord and Savior and to be the athletes Christ wants them to be. With your help we are developing a dynamic athletic program that will see us compete in Texas, across our nation, and the world. I encourage each of you to get involved in the Legacy Athletics Club and be a part of building something special here at LCA!
With the addition of the new turf, new video scoreboard on Comstock Field and in the Roland and Cheryl Burns Gymnasium, the refurbished fieldhouse, new speaker system in Comstock Field, the puzzle is coming together a little more and assures me that the “THE BEST IS YET TO COME!”
COLE JOHNSON - ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Eagle Nation,
Welcome to Legacy Christian Academy. Whether you’re new to Legacy or you’ve been here for a while, we’re glad you’re here on campus and even more excited that it is by way of athletics! The reach of a school’s athletics can be so broad, so deep, and so impactful. Whatever your role is at any game, whether fan, friend, parent, cheerleader, musician, or player, you have potential to impact the game and be impacted. We are all stakeholders in some way, shape, or form. It is my prayer that our teams will co-facilitate each other’s best performance and all of us will leave the event better than when we arrived…better in each and every role we undertake. Sports and athletics is a wonderful platform to grow socially, physically, mentally, and spiritually. May we experience deeper community and greater growth born through sport!
Better and better, Cole
KARI TOMENY - ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Welcome to Legacy Christian Academy!
In my mind there is no better school in North Texas than Legacy Christian Academy, and I consider it a privilege to be a part of this amazing school community. Legacy’s people love the Lord while striving for excellence in all things through Him. Many at Legacy, from our early education students to our grandparents, proudly support our student athletes. Our young men and women continually demonstrate distinction in the classroom as well as inside all of Legacy’s athletic arenas. They train hard during the off-season and compete with strength and honor in-season. Their efforts have been rewarded with much athletic success over the past years. God has placed Legacy in a great position and we are thankful for His provision, guidance, and grace.
If this is your first visit to LCA, sit back and enjoy a time filled with fun and fellowship. We also invite you to explore our campus and discover for yourself why Legacy’s students, faculty, staff and administration call Legacy Christian Academy home.
Onward Eagles!
DOUG
Aside from his coaching accomplishments, Coach Hix takes pride in his personal life. He has been happily married to his wife, Tricia, for 18 years, and together, they are blessed with three wonderful children: Niah (‘25), Noah (‘29), and Eli (‘31).
A man of strong faith, Coach Hix attends the Village Church in Flower Mound. His spiritual beliefs deeply influence his coaching philosophy and approach to life. His favorite Bible verse, Proverbs 3:3-4 NKJV, reflects his core values: “Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.” Coach Hix believes that true success lies in gaining favor and esteem with God and others by extending mercy, grace, and love while remaining steadfast in truth.
Coach Hix’s passion for coaching stems from his desire to help young men unlock their full potential on and off the field. Each season, he looks forward to the opportunity to train, equip, and celebrate the growth and development of his players as they discover the winner within themselves.
With a commitment to both excellence and character-building, Coach Doug Hix is a remarkable leader who seeks to make a positive impact on the lives of his players and the community at LCA.
MATT FAULKNER - OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR
Meet Coach Matt Faulkner, the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks coach at Legacy Christian Academy. With a remarkable 10-year coaching career in the DFW area under his belt, Coach Faulkner has an extensive background in football and a passion for developing young athletes both on and off the field.
Off the field, Coach Faulkner is devoted to his family and enjoys the company of his wife, Kelsey, and their three beloved Great Pyrenees dogs - Maya, Cari, and Jonas. His family values and commitment to his players’ growth extend to his spiritual life as well. He is an active member of his church, where he was involved with the high school student ministry and now engages in a couples home group.
As a coach, he is driven by his desire to see his players use their gifts and talents in football to be challenged, learn, and grow as young men. He values creating a culture where the players place the Lord first and prioritize their development as human beings above their performance on the field. This perspective aligns perfectly with the culture at LCA, where Coach Hix instills the message that hard work in football is essential, but it does not define a person’s ultimate value, worth, or identity.
One of Coach Faulkner’s favorite Bible verses is 2 Corinthians 3:17, which speaks about freedom in the presence of the Lord. He deeply appreciates the idea that Jesus came to set captives free, allowing individuals to have a meaningful relationship with Him and become the person God redeemed them to be.
JAKE MACKEY - DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR
In his second year at Legacy, Eagle Nation welcomes Jake Mackey as the new Defensive Coordinator. Coach Mackey also serves as the Head Coach for the JV football team, as well as the Track & Field Throwers Coach.
Jake is happily married to his wife, Chelsie, and they have a daughter named Lily (‘41). Family values are at the core of Coach Mackey’s life, and he strives to set a positive example for his players and students both on and off the field. He believes in the importance of nurturing a strong relationship with Jesus Christ and emphasizes that at LCA, the coaches care far more about their athletes’ relationship with God than their performance in sports. Legacy offers students opportunity to compete in high-level sports and is complemented by a focus on learning how to honor God with actions both as coaches and athletes.
Coach Mackey is enthusiastic about seeing his team grow closer to Jesus Christ through the relationships they form with each other and the hard work they put in. He believes that the bond among teammates is not only about winning games but also about supporting each other and developing character and integrity.
One of Coach Mackey’s favorite Bible verses is Romans 8:37-39, which reflects his unwavering trust in God’s love throughout life’s challenges and mistakes. This verse serves as a source of encouragement for himself and his players, reminding them that God’s love is constant and unchanging.

VARSITY VOLEYBALL
Coach Luiz Lima is the Lady Eagles Head Volleyball Coach at Legacy Christian Academy. With over 15 years of coaching experience, including stints at the international and collegiate levels, Coach Lima brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the volleyball program.
Coach Lima is happily married to his wife, Brinley, and recently welcomed their baby boy, Luka, this summer.
As he enters his second year as the LCA head coach, Coach Lima is filled with excitement and enthusiasm for the upcoming season. He says that the girls on the team have responded positively to his coaching, and he looks forward to seeing them embrace and maintain the team’s culture, especially as new players join the roster. He is particularly thrilled about the incoming freshmen class and is excited to witness their teamwork and growth on the court. He deeply values the incredible family environment that LCA fosters and appreciates the sincere care and support provided by the administration. This nurturing environment facilitates the development of student-athletes and brings out the best in each individual.
Coach Lima’s coaching philosophy is guided by Proverbs 2:6 (NIV): “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.” He believes in the power of words and considers them a crucial tool to bring life and positivity to people. This verse serves as a reminder to use his words wisely and positively impact the lives of his players on and off the court.

One of Coach Sugg’s guiding principles comes from Matthew 5:14–16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” She firmly believes that every individual has been created with a unique purpose to impact the Kingdom of God. By living in alignment with their purpose, they naturally become a beacon that points others to Christ.
With her passion for cheerleading, her dedication to her family, and her strong faith foundation, Coach Morgan Sugg is an invaluable asset to the Legacy Christian Academy community. Her commitment to helping young athletes grow into confident, skilled, and purpose-driven individuals makes her an admired leader and role model for all those she interacts with.

As the Head Varsity Cheer Coach, Coach Cox is eagerly looking forward to the varsity football games in the fall and defending their 5A Cheer State Championship title. She takes immense pride in leading her team and representing LCA in the competitive cheer arena.
Legacy Christian Academy holds a special place in Coach Cox’s heart, and she acknowledges the incredible community support for all athletes across various sports. The nurturing and encouraging environment at LCA creates a unique experience for both coaches and athletes, making it a truly special place.
One of her favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 41:10, which serves as a source of strength and inspiration in both her personal life and coaching journey. This verse reminds her and her athletes that they can rely on the Lord’s presence and strength, even in the face of challenges and uncertainties.
With her dedication to her team, commitment to her family, and strong faith foundation, Coach Farrah Cox brings a blend of passion, love, and resilience to the Legacy Christian Academy cheerleading program

He believes that this understanding, coupled with God’s guidance, molds his athletes into remarkable young adults, not just on the track but in all aspects of life. He commends the way LCA stretches athletes to their limits, but not at the expense of breaking them for the sole purpose of achieving success. This balanced and nurturing approach allows athletes to grow and flourish, fostering a positive and supportive environment for everyone involved.
One of Coach Heaton’s favorite Bible verses is John 10:10, which speaks about the abundant life that Jesus offers.
