2024-2025 Uniform & Appearance Standards

EarlyLearning-Pre-K3-Kindergarten

Daily Wear (Monday-Thursday) Shirts

Green, white, and black short or long-sleeved polo-style shirts with the Legacy crest supplied by Risse Brothers School Uniforms.

Pants, Shorts, Dresses, and Skorts

Khaki-colored pants, shorts, and girls’ skorts may be purchased from the vendor of your choosing. Khakis must be flat-front or pleated and may not be cargo-style. Belts are not required in Early Ed. Girls may also wear a green, polo-style dress, plaid skorts, or Legacy plaid jumper with a white button-up peter pan shirt purchased from Risse Brothers. Black modesty shorts or leggings (black or white) must be worn under all skirts.

Footwear

Shoes and boots must be closed-toe and closed-heel. Athletic shoes are required on PE days. Shoes may not have lights, wheels, or bells. Slippers may not be worn.

Spirit Dress (Fridays and designated spirit days)

Students may wear Legacy Spirit apparel along with blue denim jeans, shorts, or khakis Girls may not wear jeggings. No holes, rips, decorations, elastic, or cut-offs may be worn. The length and fit of garments must meet modesty guidelines. Additionally, students may wear any LCA sweatshirt/hoodie apparel on Spirit Dress days. Cheer uniforms or athletic team uniforms are not considered spirit wear for ELC and LS.

Dress Uniform

The dress uniform will be worn on special, designated occasions throughout the year and is required for every student. All dress uniform items must be purchased from Risse Brothers unless indicated otherwise. Girls will wear the Risse Brothers School Uniforms plaid skirt or skort with the green, Legacy-crested polo. Boys will wear khaki pants and the green, Legacy-crested polo, along with a solid black belt

Outerwear

Daily outerwear purchased through LCA-approved vendors (Risse Brothers, Dennis, Spirit Shop & BSN Sideline Store) may be worn any day during the school year.

Hair

All hair must be neat in appearance and of natural color/highlights. Boys’ hair must be above the eyebrows, not below the middle of the ear, above the collar in the back, and may not be held in place by any bands or tucked behind the ears. Radical hairstyles are not allowed.

Pants, Shorts, Skirts, and Skorts

Khaki-colored shorts/pants/skorts/skirts/capris or plaid skirts/skorts must be worn. No cargo shorts or pants are allowed. No holes, rips, decorations, elastic, or cut-offs may be present in the apparel. Skirts must not be tight and be a modest length (mid-thigh or longer) for ladies. Shorts must not be tight and be a modest length (midthigh or longer) for young men. Skirts must still follow length guidelines, even if leggings are worn underneath. Black modesty shorts or leggings (black or white) must be worn under all skirts. A black or brown belt is required.

Boys – green, Legacy crested polo and khaki pants provided by Risse Brothers; black belt required. Girls – green, Legacy crested polo and plaid skirt/skort provided by Risse brothers.

UpperSchool-9th-12thGrade

Daily Wear (Monday-Thursday) Shirts

Short or long-sleeved polo-style shirts with the Legacy crest in dark green, white, or black supplied by Risse Brothers School Uniforms. Undershirts must be solid white.

Pants, Shorts, and Skirts

Khaki-colored shorts/pants/capris or approved plaid skirts must be worn. No cargo shorts or pants are allowed. No holes, rips, decorations, elastic, or cut-offs may be present in the apparel. Skirts must not be tight and be a modest length (mid-thigh or longer) for ladies. The length and tightness of shorts must be at minimum mid-thigh or longer and loose. Skirts must still follow length guidelines, even if leggings are worn underneath. Black modesty shorts or leggings (black or white) must be worn under all skirts. A black or brown belt is required

Footwear

Shoes must be closed-toe and closed-heel. Shoes may not have lights, wheels, or bells. They must not be a safety hazard. Boots may be worn with pants. Slippers, houseshoes, and flip-flops may not be worn.

Spirit Dress (Fridays and designated spirit days)

Students may wear Legacy Spirit apparel along with blue denim jeans, shorts, or khakis with a spirit shop-approved top. No jeggings, leggings, yoga pants, distressed shorts/pants, no decorations, no elastic, or cutoffs will be permitted. Seniors are permitted to wear college shirts on spirit dress days.

Chapel Wear/Dress Uniform

This is worn on designated days and is required for every student. All dress uniform items must be purchased from Risse Brothers Uniform unless indicated otherwise.

Boys - Khaki pants, white LCA branded long sleeve oxford shirt (tucked in). Black/brown dress shoes (no tennis shoes) with matching black/brown belt; 12th-grade tie provided by the Head of School for Seniors.

Girls - Plaid skirt, white LCA branded long sleeve or NEW 3/4 oxford sleeve shirt (tucked). Black/brown dress shoes (no tennis shoes).

Outerwear

Daily outerwear purchased through LCA-approved vendors (Risse Brothers, Dennis, Spirit Shop & BSN Sideline Store) may be worn any day during the school year.

Hair

All hair must be neat in appearance and of natural color/highlights. Radical hairstyles are not allowed. Boys’ hair must be off the shoulder and out of the eyes. Faces must be clean-shaven at all times. Sideburns may not be below the bottom of the earlobe.

Other

Piercings are limited to girls only and in the ears only (maximum of 2 piercings per ear). No tattoos may be visible at any time, including during extra-curricular activities. Jewelry that causes a distraction or could be dangerous to the student or other individuals is prohibited (i.e. spiked/studded jewelry, chokers, dog collars).
