LEGACY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN, BOARD OF TRUSTEES
DEAR FRIENDS OF LEGACY These are exciting times at Legacy Christian Academy. Poised on the brink of the 20th anniversary since we first opened our doors, we celebrate the legacy of excellence and resounding faith established by our founders two decades ago. Indeed, the vision of those founding families remains as true today as it was in 1998 – that LCA is and would always be the school of choice for committed Christian families in North Texas who desire the best Christ-centered education for their children. It has been my privilege to be a part of the Legacy community
through annual and capital giving and in a myriad of other ways.

experienced first-hand what LCA does the very best — produce curious, confident, service-minded graduates who are grounded in their faith and ready for college — and beyond. Indeed, this solid foundation upon which Legacy Christian Academy was established has never wavered, and is at the core of the robust and dynamic Christ-centered institution we are today. As I come to the end of my term as Chair of the Board of Trustees, I congratulate our head of school, faculty and staff, and the students they serve, for maintaining the highest of standards while sustaining an educational program and love for Christ that genuinely matters to all facets of our community. This Annual Report on Philanthropy seeks to recognize and celebrate those who have helped us along the way, and
As I take pause to reflect on all that has been accomplished, and what we seek to achieve going forward, what clearly comes into focus is that Legacy Christian Academy is thriving and the opportunities for new and enhanced programs abound. I have little doubt that Legacy Christian Academy will continue to flourish as we move forward. In closing I simply wish to say thank you. It is your support— your philanthropic support, your enthusiasm for our mission, your heart for the Lord’s work at LCA, and your commitment to our students and to their education—that makes all of this possible. For this we are truly indebted, and very grateful. Sincerely,

As the group was preparing to present ideas to the church elders, Pastor Wayne contacted his friend Jody Capehart, an experienced Christian educator who had started several Christian schools, for advice. The timing proved providential, as she had been contemplating a career move. The call from Pastor Wayne was not only a literal call, but a larger call to serve and to obey, as advice sought turned into a job offer. Given her success in this arena, Jody’s arrival accelerated the school launch

Benevolence: Families experiencing unexpected financial hardship received the help they needed to keep their children at LCA. (TESTIMONY)
How do we even begin to say thank you enough for the blessing of LCA and the generosity you have bestowed on our family. As we began to pray, “Lord please help us find a way to purchase the necessities for this year,” little did we know that our Great God would use our Legacy Christian family to provide us those needs. We are a family who is currently struggling through some medical/financial issues and were a bit stressed and
we received exactly what we needed to purchase the items necessary. My immediate thought was, “Praise God from whom all blessings flow!” Thank you Legacy Christian for providing my family the opportunity to continue to send our child to this wonderful, godly school. And thank you LCA for being His hands and feet and blessing my family in big ways. You have removed one less stress from our lives and shown us once again how deeply we must trust our God! Many blessings and I pray I might be able to return the blessing in some way, shape or form. Keeping my eyes, ears and heart open to serving at LCA as the Lord leads.

PROFESSIONAL SCHOOLS PROGRAM
The professional school curriculum will be introduced systematically, in concert with our existing core academic requirements. Beginning this year, all students will determine which school they’d like to explore, thus giving them a voice in their academic future. Legacy will employ industry-leading guidance tools to gauge career interest and provide access to advisers and counselors to help students gain further insight. In addition, students will attend forums and seminars and discuss various career options with professionals and peers.
Beverly Henry Wheeler, the regional director of admissions and past president of the National Association for College Admissions Counselors has endorsed this innovative approach. “The new Professional Schools Program will equip LCA students for the rigorous curriculum that awaits them at the college level. It’s the innovative education required for students not only to attend college, but also to be successful leaders once they arrive.” The PSP has been designed to further Legacy’s core mission to “develop strong leaders with biblical convictions who are equipped to succeed in college and beyond.” Within each professional school is a biblical worldview course tailored Should students be undecided or desire a change, the PSP

Today’s high school students face pressures from many sources. From academics to social activities, from athletics to uncertainties in their faith, many of today’s youth are woefully unprepared and ill-equipped to manage their daily lives with resolve and confidence. MIDDLE SCHOOL MODULES: • S TUDY SKILLS: essential for handling academic stress and achieving school success; topics include strategies for test taking, critical thinking, problem solving, and note taking. • CLIFTON STRENGTHSFINDER: students discover their God-given hardwired talents and abilities, therefore fostering a better understanding of their purpose and appreciation of others. • P ERSONAL FINANCES: students learn basic money management skills and financial pitfalls to avoid, encouraging healthy financial habits and attitudes. • MENTAL HEALTH: bringing to light topics that many students will deal with but are seldom discussed publicly, including stress, anxiety, and depression; students are introduced to coping strategies for grief, peer pressure, and anger, as well as the concept of GRIT. •R ELATIONSHIPS: helping students navigate the maze of dealing with people, covering topics such as conflict resolution, diversity, cliques, healthy boy-girl friendships, and bullying. • T ECHNOLOGY: positive and healthy strategies and the real world realities of social media are discussed including digital footprints, integrity issues, and the dangers of online browsing. • PHYSICAL HEALTH: keeping students aware of changes throughout puberty, as well as discussing body image, nutrition, and drugs and alcohol issues. • T EAM BUILDING: providing fun opportunities for students to interact, solve problems, and appreciate differences in others.
Upper school topics include purity, GRIT, substance abuse, anxiety and depression, diversity awareness, authentic faith, conflict resolution, self-esteem, resilience, and responsible use of technology. By extending this program throughout middle and high school, the Class of 2026, who are current 5th Graders, will benefit from eight-years of LCA YOU. The adolescent years will likely always be a complicated, joyful, challenging, messy time. As our young people attempt to chart their course through this increasingly difficult phase of life, we hold fast to what we know to be true: at LCA, with Christ at the core of all we do, we will continue to provide our students with the means and opportunities to discover and hone their Godgiven talents to move ahead in the Great Adventure with Christ.

A LAST WORD FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE FOR ONE WHO BELIEVES. - Mark 9:23
DEAR FRIENDS, Twenty years ago our founders had a vision to build a school that was truly Christ-centered, founded on biblical principles, and committed to academic, athletic, and fine arts excellence: a school that would “develop strong leaders with biblical convictions who are equipped to succeed in college and beyond.” The impeccable faith of our founders caused that vision to be realized, and over the years we have built on that firm foundation, becoming the dynamic institution that is Legacy Christian Academy today.
