Guide

From the Head of School, Bill mcgee Welcome to Legacy Christian Academy! We are delighted you have chosen to partner with us in the education of your children. As you become acquainted with our school you will discover the unique curriculum, programs, and opportunities that distinguish Legacy from the other schools in the region. You will discover a close-knit community where students are nurtured, challenged, and encouraged to discover and embrace their identity and purpose in Christ. As a Christ-centered school, we integrate faith and learning by teaching all subjects from a biblical worldview and by acknowledging that “all truth is God’s truth. As a covenant community, we believe that all people are made in the image of God, reflect His glory, and have profound value. As a college-preparatory school, we offer a curriculum that meets or exceeds the admission requirements of the most selective colleges and universities in the nation. Legacy students are engaged in a community where lifelong learning is modeled by our faculty and where the life of the mind is held in high esteem. Our students are participants rather than spectators, and leadership opportunities abound. We invite you to become personally invested in this vibrant community and to be “all in.” That is the “Legacy Way.” Included in this guide are the covenant promises that we make with each other as co-laborers in the education of our students. Please take time to read and contemplate them. As we keep our promises to one another, may Legacy Christian Academy be a lighthouse to North Texas, and may others be drawn to Christ because of our witness. Thank you for the privilege of serving alongside you. Onward Eagles!

From the Chief Development Officer,

Deanna Carpenter Welcome to the Legacy Community! As a part of our covenant partnership, we are excited to come alongside you as parents, trustees, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty and staff, and community supporters. For 20 years, God has faithfully blessed the Legacy community with bold philanthropic and volunteer support--commitments that allow our teachers to focus on inspiring and educating our students to become young men and women on a mission for Christ. Your gifts of time, talent, and treasure are the vital resources that foster community and enhance programs. The Legacy Community thrives on parent engagement. We encourage active parent involvement in a variety of areas, including Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF), library support, Watch D.O.G.S., classroom volunteers, and special event assistance, just to name a few. We look forward to sharing with you the many opportunities available for you to play an active role in your child’s education at LCA. As we encourage parent involvement, we also seek your financial support. While tuition provides the essentials of a Christian education, Legacy would not be the excellent school you see before you without the generous giving of its community. Since our inception, each generation of parents has taken up our founders’ challenge: to faithfully support LCA through prayer and the giving of time and resources. Each year we ask that every family prayerfully consider a gift to Legacy. Philanthropic support happens primarily through LCA’s Annual Fund and our endowment. Gifts to the Annual Fund have an immediate impact on academic programs, fine arts, athletics, faculty support, tuition assistance, spiritual life programs, and facilities. The Legacy endowment is critical to the longterm success of Legacy. A gift towards endowment will not only benefit today’s students but also the lives of future generations. We look forward to getting to know your family personally and partnering with you to continue to honor His work at Legacy. If you have any questions, or if I can be of any assistance to you, please let me know. With gratitude,

Deanna Carpenter Chief Development Officer

UNDERSTANDING & ELEVATING THE ANNUAL FUND Giving at Legacy Christian Academy is an important tradition that demonstrates the loyalty, commitment, and generous spirit of our community. Our Goal This Year is $1,000,000.

THE ANNUAL FUND serves as the primary vehicle to raise significant operational funds for curriculum and program enhancement, professional development, and institutional priorities.

one of the goals of the 2019-2020 Annual Fund is to

achieve 100% partnership from our trustees, faculty/ staff and our parent community–and to double the number of gifts from grandparents, parents of alumni, and friends of LCA. Building our base of support is an ambitious goal–but an important one. It will secure our place as a leading, innovative, Christ-centered private school, and will make a bold statement about the pride and confidence that Legacy’s community feels about LCA.

why does lca need to raise money? The Annual Fund

provides a margin of excellence over and above that afforded by tuition–providing crucial support for program enhancements, improvements to our buildings and grounds, and new initiatives to ensure we continue to provide the very best in Christ-centered education.

have questions or want more info? Contact Deanna Carpenter by phone or email: 469.633.1330 or deanna.carpenter@legacyca.com. You can also
