The nature that surrounds us is our primary source of inspiration. Legnoluce has been operating in the Italian market for over 15 years and specializes in manufacturing outdoor furnishings using natural materials such as Black Locust, Acacia, Teak, Pine, Spruce and Larch. Legnoluce collections are the unique fruits of a company that combines love for nature with design research, careful use of materials, innovation in manufacturing and assembly techniques, and attentive customer service. The key to our design solutions is an interlocking system that reduces to a minimum the use of hardware, allowing a quick, easy, and perfectly stable assembly, thanks to the high degree of precision in the fabrication of the various components. This system allows you to furnish any green area in complete freedom. We offer a full range of products continually updated: wooden garden furnishings with a large selection of tables, chairs, and armchairs; a variety of gazebos designed to satisfy the most diverse needs; lamps for gardens and parks, wooden tiles, carports, pergolas, garden houses, and swimming pools. For years now our company has been involved in manufacturing modular elements using the “block haus” system for prefabricated houses, sports and recreational structures. Legnoluce offers custom made solutions designed in collaboration with architects.

Legnoluce uses exclusively high quality woods, selected and treated using ecologically sound processes in full respect of nature and human health. We manufacture our furnishings in Pine and Fir – Nordic woods weatherproof by nature – cut to their final shape and dried, followed by a pressure treatment that insures protection against insect infestations, and all fungal infestations, including those that cause rot. This treatment consists of immersing the wood in a saline solution inside an autoclave that, in a process of alternating vacuum and pressure, allows the wood cells to open and better absorb the saturating solution. Highest Quality All Legnoluce outdoor furnishings comply with the strictest international quality standards: DIN 68800 and Uni 8859. For certain products Legnoluce has acquired the sought after FSC certification. The mark of the Forest Steward Council (FSC) indicates that the wood used to manufacture the products comes from forests appropriately managed by Forestry Departments throughout the world, in accordance with strict environmental, social, and economic standards. The forests from which the wood originates have been independently controlled by the Forest Stewardship Council. The FSC is an international non-profit association whose membership includes social and environmental groups, timber harvesting and milling industries, and wood products manufacturing and marketing industries, that work together to improve forest management throughout the world.

Robinia

Black Locust: ecological choice that will last through time Legnoluce outdoor furniture in Black Locust are a perfect combination of aesthetics and quality: Black Locust wood is considered the toughest European timber. It is stable and thus durable for outdoor use The Black Locust tree (Robinia pseudo acacia) is native to North America and the name is derived from a court gardener, Jean Robin, who introduced it in France at the beginning of the 1600s as an ornamental plant for the beauty of its flowers, while the term “pseudo Acacia” indicates its similarity to Acacia. Black Locust and Acacia grow in different areas. Acacia is widespread in South America, Africa, Southern Asia and Australia, while the Black Locust grows preferably at the northernmost latitudes.

In Eastern Europe the Black Locust is currently in third place on the list of grown hardwoods. It grows quickly and it is easy to plant, making it the ideal alternative to exotic and tropical woods. Black Locust wood has a characteristic yellow colour and distinct rings. It is very heavy and hard, but at the same time, solid, elastic and easy to work with Its most interesting characteristic is its durability, since it is naturally resistant to fungi and parasites. This makes Black Locust the only European wood for outdoor use in its natural state, without the aid of impregnating chemicals. Legnoluce chose this wood to build their garden furniture and their choice has proven successful. It is the perfect combination of aesthetics, quality, and respect for the environment. The Black Locust selected by Legnoluce is harvested in European forests controlled by Forestry Departments. The Black Locust is considered one of the finest European woods comparable, if not superior, to many African, Asiatic and South American woods. The Black Locust furniture manufactured by Legnoluce are an ethical choice aimed at preserving our planet’s natural balance, thanks to its great reproductive capacity and speed of growth as opposed to exotic, slow growing woods.

Zaya Table

Hart Armchair

Fixed size outdoor table proposed in square and rectangular versions, in black locust wood with rounded edges and corners. The special hole in the center of the table allows an umbrella to be inserted.

The Hart armchair is made from manually weaved chocolate-coloured synthetic HDPE-fiber on a powder-coated aluminum frame. The Hart armchair has been studied in its finishings and with the utmost attention to detail, from the aluminum coated legs to the armrests inlaid at the top with wooden elements of black locust. The results are strong and durable and at the same time, light and very practical. The

From a single house an entire village After the experience gained by the implementation of the village Friuli a Provvidenti in the postearthquake emergency in Molise and Maracay (Aragua) in Venezuela, where a village with Sweet Home houses was built on commission from the Venezuelan Navy, Legnoluce has, in collaboration with D.D.L. Srl. Citta Santâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;Angelo, constructed 216 housing units in record time, a few months after the earthquake that struck the Abruzzo region in 2009. The structures are real two-story buildings made entirely of wood using Block Haus technology, and are divided into apartments of various sizes of 40, 50 and

70 m2. The temporary housing modules were built on behalf of the Italian Civil Protection in the town of L Aquila and more precisely in Pianola, Bagno Piccolo, Bazzano and Pescomaggiore and are all equipped with kitchen, living room and one/two or three bedrooms depending on the square footage of the accommodation. This success is the confirmation of the absolute quality offered by Legnoluce and it is the natural consequence of love and passion for wood and its peculiarity that characterizes our company philosophy.

Regulations and maintenance tips for houses For the construction of certain buildings some municipalities require a building permit or a declaration of start of activity (DIA). This technical documentation is not included in delivery of the product, and if required by the Technical Office of the competent municipality, it must be prepared by a qualified technician on site on behalf of the purchaser. The technician must also assess whether the maximum load for this article is compatible with the load required by the regulations for the installation area. All houses are supplied in kit form, accompanied by instructions, technical data, and associated hardware. For all information regarding the installation of the houses, please contact our dealer who will advise and assist you.

Social Housing The wooden houses from Legnoluce are, thanks to Block Haus technology used, the ideal solution for the creation of entire neighborhoods, with multi-storey buildings that are also particularly suitable for projects in Social Housing or Private Social Building, distinguished by the excellent stability of the whole, the earthquake proofness, the natural insulating properties of this material and the exceptional livability that characterises wooden houses. Particularly interesting are the project proposals for the development of Social Housing, designed in collaboration with architects: solutions with two or more storeys that lend themselves to the different needs of governments, associations, universities, also made according to specific design or indications.

The base For a successful installation we suggest the building of a perfectly leveled and drained foundation. The concrete base must be raised from the ground by at least 10 cm. The ideal size of the base are shown in the houseÂ´ technical documentation and are about 5-10 mm less than the outer surface of the house (excluding the Block Haus joints that protrude 10 cm per side). This will allow the rainwater that falls along the walls not stagnate in the point of contact between the concrete base and the lower matchboard. To prevent the house being damaged in case of particularly unfavorable wind conditions it is advisable to anchor the structure to the ground effectively. Recommendations for proper maintenance The houses are built of timber from Nordic spruce that has not been pre-treated. This type of wood must receive a protective treatment to ensure a long life. You should not use paints for wood, but rather use impregnating products and moisture regulators readily available in hobby shops. Perform a preventive treatment before assembly of grooves and joints, then mount the house before making a final overall treatment. It is preferable to repeat the treatment to protect the wood every two or three years to ensure proper preservation of the structure, with particular attention to areas exposed to weather and sunlight. We recommend the installation of gutters to drain rain water (and also for its eventual recovery), which otherwise may wet the side walls. In case of snow, you should always remove the snow from the roof of the house, in order to avoid damage to the structure.

Certifications: ISO 9001 Legnoluce Spa has in 2006 obtained the certification of its Quality Management System according to UNI EN ISO 9001 which, to streamline our organization, we have given ourselves certain rules to follow, that ensure the

continued compliance of the products with the technical legal requirements. The Certification of the Quality Management System also dictates, that our organization should be focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. CE MARKING (DIR 89/106/EEC) In 2011 the company has received the certification to CE mark the solid wood elements for structural use which are the basis for the realization of the products exhibited in the catalogs. Legnoluce has also obtained the qualification from the Ministry of Infrastructure and production activities for the processing of wood-based products, that are used for the production of the products displayed in the catalogs. Quality of materials Wood is a raw material of plant origin derived from biological organisms. The habitats in which these organisms are born and grow is totally natural, and therefore subject to the infinite variables of nature: seasons, weather, etc. Large and small knots (they are the cross section of the branches incorporated into the tissue of the stem) may be present and are considered typical of all wood species. Over time they can create slight leakage of resin. The resin is a healing substance produced by the tree during growth to protect the ligneous fabric. This content can sometimes escape in the form of droplets that crystallize with time. There may also be portions of the structures elements that have parts with marked differences in color, this happens when you have fibers with different wood density and/or different sections of wood. These events are typical of some wood species and can not be avoided due to the inherent nature of wood itself. The wood is subject to the presence of shrinkage cracks due to the technological characteristic of hygroscopicity. Because of this aspect, if the moisture content of the environment is different from that of the wooden element, it will tend to get in balance and thus perform dimensional and geometric movements. For the production of houses (MADE IN ITALY) we use Nordic spruce (Swedish and Finnish), a dense wood with a clear and fine grain, with small, tied knots, that has not undergone any treatment. The solid structural wood or the wood-based products (matchboards on the walls and roof beams) used for the construction of houses are all CE marked according to the harmonized standards: EN 14081-1 Timber structures â&#x20AC;&#x201C; Strength graded structural timber with rectangular cross section (beams, joists, boards and planks). EN 14080 Timber structures â&#x20AC;&#x201C; Glued laminated timber and glued solid timber (laminated wood). EN 14915 Solid wood panelling and cladding (matchboards).
