Dear Vibram Partners, This Spring 2015 line is such a monumental leap for us at Vibram, I wanted to take a moment to tell you what’s inspiring the innovations you are about to see. As we were designing this new line, we were mesmerized by the raw physical freedom that we saw coming out of the parkour training movement. So much so that we used that lightness to inspire a gravity-defying new product called the KMD EVO. We think this is the perfect shoe for active training and fitness—whether that’s in a gym or a traceur jam. We’re also seeing more and more consumers taking their workout off the grid—using Mother Nature’s gym to inspire a truly organic workout. To answer this trend, we’ve re-engineered our outdoor line and are debuting the new Trek Ascent, which features a super grippy outsole for traction and durability.
ICETREK was developed to provide unparalleled grip on cold, icy, or snow covered surfaces. The soft rubber compound in combination with uniquely designed lugs allows Vibram® ICETREK soles to move swiftly on various icy surfaces.
MEGAGRIP offers excellent grip properties on both dry and wet terrains while maintaining a high level of durability. Developed for the user who frequently encounters slippery surfaces, MEGAGRIP offers an incomparable combination of grip and durability.
RUN XS RUN provides a maximal stable hardness across a broad temperature range and the softness of the compound allows for expansive ground contact and grip across lug surfaces. Vibram® XS RUN also provides high grip on smooth surfaces.

3D COCOON Embedded in the outsole, this thin and flexible mesh disperses ground pressure by distributing impact. Flexible but protective enough to traverse safely over uneven ground, the end user experiences ground feedback with less bite.
Vibram® Cityplus compound offers grip on flat and polished surfaces such as sidewalks, marble floors, and granite steps. This compound is softer than our standard rubber compounds for outdoor use, but provides a higher level of comfort and durability for lifestyle footwear.
Another big influence for us this year is the move away from the solo athlete to more people seeking the energy and camaraderie of a group experience—whether that’s in a gym, a barre studio, or mud run. To capitalize on this shift, we are launching new fitness styles that incorporate greater flexibility and security for a broader target of athletes. But after a injury took me out of commission over in Japan, I had to accept a medical discharge from the military and return home.
