Head coach Steve Borthwick FROM THE TOUCHLINE

Four weeks into the new season and we face a fresh challenge with the switch to European rugby for the next two weekends.

There is an obvious difference in terms of familiarity with the opposition, though we know that Brive have a good squad, a big forward pack and carry threats in several areas. The focus for us is preparing thoroughly so we are able to perform at our best because we are going to need it.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND WISH A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU, YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, AND HOPE WE CAN WELCOME YOU BACK TO A TIGERS MATCHDAY VERY SOON

This week we have been able to work with a bigger squad as the international players returned to the club.

It was great to get Nemani, Kini, Shalva, Ben, George and Ellis back to Oval Park this week. We’ve been assessing them following the Autumn Nations Cup and have a plan in place for them going forward, balancing their reintroduction to training and playing here with understanding the right thing for each player and the need for some recovery and recharge.

But, without question, they are all desperate to play for Leicester Tigers again and we look forward to seeing them back in club colours.

Matias Moroni and Luan de Bruin have also joined the squad and, after seeing four players make their debuts in the opening rounds of the league season, it is good to see the squad continue to grow and develop, and for us to have the opportunity to give those players their chance in a Leicester Tigers shirt.

As this is the last matchday programme until the home game against Bath in January, I would like to thank you for your continued support and wish a very Happy Christmas to you, your family and friends, and hope we can welcome you back to a Tigers matchday very soon.
