We know a thing or 2 about producing festivals, given we’ve developed Leicester Comedy Festival every February since 1994. The ticket office will be open for telephone sales Monday – Friday from 10am-6pm. During the main festival dates, the phone line will also be staffed Saturdays (10am – 6pm) and Sundays (midday – 4pm).
Tickets will be available to buy in person from the Festival Hub located in the city centre during the Festival. You can also collect tickets from our ticket booths located at venues and locations across the city centre. Check the website for more information about where and when these will be open. UK KIDS’ COMEDY FESTIVAL CODE: Here at Big Difference Company we really care about children, young people and families and want the first UK Kids’ Comedy Festival to be as wonderful, safe and fun as possible. In order to do this we have put a few things in place to make the Festival run smoothly for you and your family: • All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult for all shows in The UK Kids’ Comedy Festival. You cannot drop them off and go elsewhere (even if there is a great Leicester Comedy Festival show you’d like to see!) • No photography is permitted at any UK Kids Comedy Festival shows. We will have a professional photographer who has been briefed in our photography policy. Everyone will have the opportunity to opt out of being included in published photographs. Speak to someone at the show to find out more about this. • Each venue at the UK Kids Comedy Festival will have at least one ‘child friendly’ member of staff or volunteer who has had our specific briefing. They will be wearing a special ‘The UK Kids’ Comedy Festival’ wristband.

BOOKING FEES
ACCESS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
We pass 100% of ticket income on to our venues, acts and promoters have worked hard to keep booking fees as low as possible, working with our ticketing partner Red61. In 2019 there is an 80p booking fee charged on all tickets and a maximum booking charge of £4.80 per transaction. If you have any feedback on our centralised ticket office, do let us know by emailing info@comedy-festival.co.uk
All venues will be as accessible and family friendly as they can be. All the promoters and venues that put on events try and ensure that everyone is able to attend Festival events and have a comfortable time when they get there. We have produced a guide to visiting our venues for people with disabilities and this can be downloaded from our website or by contacting our main festival office. If you wish to speak to an individual venue about access requirements, you will find their contact details on page 26.
If you buy tickets from anywhere else, the booking fees and arrangements may be different so please check the terms and conditions when purchasing tickets. PRICE & TIMES: Prices for events are contained in this brochure; full price tickets are shown and relevant concession/discounted prices are shown in brackets. Discounts vary with different events, so check with the ticket office when booking. Start times indicate the time the performance will start; the venue may open before this, and you are advised to check opening times when booking tickets. We have also tried to suggest finish times (so you can enjoy more than one event in a day). It is difficult to guarantee finish times as comedy shows do sometimes overrun but we hope the estimates are useful. As a general rule, everyone who attends a show will need a ticket; this includes small babies who may be carried or in a pushchair. Check with ticket office when booking.

We work with over 20 promoters who take the responsibility for organising the individual events in the Festival programme. We co-ordinate the programme and provide overall marketing and publicity. This means that we do pass on your praise, comments and criticism to the relevant promoter or organiser of the event. COMEDY, CREATIVITY AND CHILDREN’S WELLBEING CURVE THEATRE, TUESDAY 12TH FEBRUARY 2019. 4.30-7.30pm
There’s a treat in store for some of Leicester’s children as part of The UK Kids’ Comedy Festival. From autumn 2018, we will be working with TheMud Collective who will be working together with Parks Primary School and St Andrews Play Association to produce some short radio programmes which will include features on what makes kids laugh. The young people will meet real-life comedians, and UK promoters, and will produce the podcasts themselves. Keep an eye on the festival twitter account for more information. The

Kids
Wellbeing among young people is a hot topic for teachers right now. This FREE event for teachers and artists offers practical examples of how to engage a range of creative disciplines, both in the classroom and in after school settings, for positive impact on pupil’s mental health and wellbeing. The Symposium will feature case studies from a range of successful school-based projects, with presentations from both schools and creative providers. The Symposium is offered as an extra event in Curve’s teacher network series, and is brought to you by Big Difference Company, The Mighty Creatives, The Spark Arts for Children, The City Classroom and Curve working in partnership as part of The UK Kids’ Comedy Festival.
