Welcome to Leighton Park

Thank you for joining us at our Annual Open Morning today and for giving us the opportunity to share our enthusiasm about our wonderful school. We challenge our students to imagine a better world. We give them the time and space to reflect on who they are and who they want to be. We support them to consider the character, confidence and determination to be changemakers, reflecting the school’s Quaker values and forward-looking approach.

The UK Government’s latest 16-18 league tables place Leighton Park in the top 1% of English schools. Despite being among the top performing schools in the country we are no results factory.

What we’re known for:

• Winning the ISA Senior School of the Year national award for 2023-24 and Finalist in the prestigious TES awards for the same category.

• Winning the ISA national award for Excellence in Pupil Personal Development 2022. Our students gain confidence and a strong sense of purpose to achieve their potential.

• Multi-Award-Winning pastoral care underpinned by small tutor groups, first name terms, innovative use of technology and close support for students to develop a strong sense of self.

• Being the only school in Europe to be a Yamaha Music Education Partner, with over 50% of students studying an instrument at school.

• Giving Quaker values currency and purpose with a focus on social business and active citizenship, celebrated by the ISA for Outstanding Local Community Involvement.

• The Independent School Inspectorate (ISI) have awarded Leighton Park a ‘double excellent’ standard, the highest possible attainment for an independent school.

Imagine better at Leighton Park School

It remains a Quaker-run school as the majority of governors are Quakers and, although no member of the Friends remains on the staff and only penny numbers of pupils are Quakers, the school lives by and exudes those gentle, civilised and socially responsible values. Few who leave here take nothing of those with them, and many see them as a guide for a healthy life. A palpable sense of calm pervades the place –you feel it as you drive in and your shoulders drop as you step out of your car and breathe out.
