Welcome to Leighton Park

Thank you for joining us at our Sixth Form Open Afternoon today and for giving us the opportunity to share our enthusiasm about our wonderful school. We challenge our students to imagine a better world. We give you the time and space to reflect on who you are and who you want to be. We support you to consider the character, confidence and determination to be changemakers, reflecting the school’s Quaker values and forward-looking approach.

The UK Government’s latest 16-18 league tables place Leighton Park in the top 1% of English schools. Despite being among the top performing schools in the country we are no results factory.

What makes our Sixth Form special:

• Brand new Sixth Form Centre with a dedicated lecture hall, silent study spaces, common room with kitchen, outdoor terraces and Sixth Form specific subject classrooms.

• The globally-renown International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme allows you to maintain breadth across six subjects and three new areas; Theory of Knowledge (TOK), an extended essay and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).

• Our 20 A Level subjects, Sport & Physical Activity CTEC and Digital Film and TV Production BTEC offer an extensive range of options for you to create your dream timetable.

• The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) gives you the chance to explore an area of real interest and gain UCAS points with your dissertation or artefact.

• UCAS applications, apprenticeships and careers pathways are supported by our dedicated team and Aspiring High club.

• The Oakleaf Diploma will teach you the life skills necessary to thrive beyond Sixth Form such as cooking, drafting a CV and travel planning.
