MAISON DAVID LOCATION AREA SOFTWARE PROFESSOR
Design Proposal
CARP ROAD, OTTAWA, ON 249SQM REVIT | 3DSMAX | CORONA | INSIGHT | SEFAIRA MARJAN GHANNAD
The ‘Maison Daivid’ is sustainable residence designed with respect to the clients transition through life. It is designed to reduce the impact on the environment. The brief of the project is to design a single family residence, a garden suite and a workshop in a 8000sqm site in carp village. The Building has been oriented towards the south to receive maximum solar gain. The major portion of the building is zoned towards the road to reduce the impact on site. The trees in the site has been left untouched to ensure less impact on the existing site conditions. Image 1

PARK’S CANADA STATION LOCATION AREA SOFTWARE PROFESSOR
Design Proposal
SABLE ISLAND, NS, CANADA REVIT | 3DSMAX | CORONA | SEFAIRA | CLIMATE CONSULTANT | SKETCHUP SONIA ZOUARI & MARJAN GHANNAD
This project aims to achieve a consolidated operations base for parks canada on the remote island of sable island, Nova Scotia. This is achieved by modular, scalable and movable designwhile taking into account a cradle to cradle approach & achieveing a Net- Zero Energy performance for the project.
Modular building method responding to the remoteness of the island Modules are developed in sizes of 9m X 2.5m for easy transportation.
Bio-SIPs present us with the benefit of using local, environmentally friendly materials with low or no off-gassing. This reduces the embodied GHG emissions of the project and help ensure not only a high quality of air inside the building (without chemical off-gassing). To improve the Energy performance, various HVAC systems, we found that the PTHP/Split system performs best at achieving improved energy performance and reduced annual cost.

OTTAWA HI-HOSTEL RETROFIT LOCATION AREA SOFTWARE PROFESSOR
Research Proposal
NICOLAS STREET, OTTAWA, ON
REVIT | SKETCHUP | INSIGHT | SEFAIRA JUAN GONZALO SOARES
The purpose of this research project is to explore various possibilities and options to retrofit the existing mechanical systems, to provide a better indoor environment. The focal points to achieve this target would be by studying the systems, sectors and managing it in the most sustainable ways . • Renewable Energy or less carbon intensive energy solutions thereby Reducing the energy consumption. • Localised controls for the heating zones into sectors for better efficiency. • Energy saving measures for mechanical ventilation systems which Improves indoor air quality. • Maintaian thermal comfort. • Energy efficient lighting. • Establishing a Building Management System. • Retro-fit the building while preserving the heritage values.
OBSERVATIONS
For this we will be analysing the building based on computational data, choosing various systems and sector disribution that affects the overall energy performance and impact to Energy Use Intensity, Annual Cooling Energy Per Unit Area, Annual Heating Energy Per Unit Area & Annual Energy Cost. By running analysis based on 2 assumed envelope specifications. Analysis shows us that if the building is retrofitted to passivhaus standard which could affect some aspects of its heritage value, there can be a great reduction in energy costs year round and improved heating and cooling efficiency. it also shows us that if the current envelope is left as is to preserve the heritage value, there is a high energy usage and cost. with the adoption of modern hvac system the enrgy cost and intensity is greatly reduced.

ALADE PEDESTRIAN MALL LOCATION AREA SOFTWARE
Design Proposal
ALLEN AVENUE, LAGOS, NIGERIA
REVIT | ENSCAPE
The mall, situated within bustling megacity and ever growing ikeja metropolis within the city of Lagos popular with tourists, and both visitors and locals ply through this region. The wide sidewalks around and through the mall allow people (and cafes, and kiosks) get more space more trees, more seating, sheltered transit centers, and movable chairs, which also encourages adding trees and lighting and reducing interactions with motorists. The design is aimed at fostering and connecting cultural, economical, social and educational activities to create a micro-community of some sort. Shoppers attention will constantly be drawn to the shelves as floating shades which are spaced in alternating pattern for reason of dynamic display, which also provides some protection from the elements.
18 The past failures of pedestrian malls are due to due to lack of traffic past the stores which caused congestion on neighboring streets and increased retail failures. This proposal creates a vibrancy of the community, By implementing a pedestrian mall in the CBD, it is hoped to make these stores more competitive by making an attractive shopping area with few pedestrian & vehicular conflicts. Which in turn creates a positive impact on consumer excitement influencing shopping satisfaction and generates unplanned purchases. The existing traffic volumes on adjacent streets caused by a major through traffic artery and much of the present traffic comes from this major artery which connects to the main economical zones that invite the puclic at all hours of the day.

Community Center Software: Revit, Enscape The design is geared towards providing facilities and environment where people can refocus, refresh and reconnect with themselves. With sustainable factors like natural ventilation, harvesting and reusing rainwater, renewable energy are all integrated into the project. All emanating to provide conducive environment forall who visit.
Restaurant
Software: Revit African themed Restaurant In aligning with the modern vision, the concept for this proposal is to create an environment of “in betweens” – a space in between open and close, formal and informal. The simple outlook of the layout is given character through the venation of the walls with patterns and motifs along with artworks representing african strength that adorn the walls.

The design is to explore the essential elements of habitat considering the need for physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs. The design is approached first from an abstract and symbolic view then expressing the metaphysical in a physical habitat. 1) Window (an opening in a solid, source of light, view or vista focus, connection of interior and exterior environment etc. 2) Cleansing (water, repose, washing, nourishment, audible) 3) Hearth (fire, warmth, food preparation, spirituality)
