New designs from Dunoon Dunoon Ceramics
Founded in Scotland in 1974, Dunoon is a well established manufacturer of high quality fine bone china mugs, teapots, cups, and saucers. The company now produces fine bone china mugs in Staffordshire: the traditional home of the British pottery industry.
Dunoon uses fine bone china clay sourced from Cornwall which contains 50% bone. This gives the mugs a beautiful translucency coupled with bright whiteness and strength. Using local craftspeople, the mugs are three times fired and feature a variety of patterns.
With over 1,000 different mug designs in the range at any one time, Dunoon introduces more than 350 new patterns each year. Aiming at the top end of the mug market, it sells to over 60 countries worldwide. Pictured are three new additions:
Coronation
Dunoon is proud to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III on May 6 with a stunning commemorative mug on its Wessex shape. The design by David Broadhurst consists of a rich gold silhouette of the crowned King on the front and back, with a partially coloured background in regal purple - all elegantly laced with 22 carat twotone gold detailing.
Seashore
Seashore is a set of three mugs on Dunoon’s Bute shape, designed by Lynn Horrabin in her inimitable style. They consist of puffins, seals, and oystercatchers in their habitats of land and sea. Each design is enriched with colourful coastal flowers, shells, starfish, fishing boats, and lighthouses.
