Take heart

The new Heartfelt collection from Joe Davies is an attractive range of butterfly and heart-shaped foiled ceramic hanging plaques. Available as single hearts and butterflies or as triple plaques, which consist of three hearts or butterflies in descending sizes. These pretty cream textured plaques carry ‘heartfelt’ sentiments for friends and family and make perfect little keepsake gifts.

To see this collection and much, much more visit the Joe Davies stand at Harrogate Home & Gift – Stand B66.

Pick me up

Ginger Betty has some lovely pick-up gifts to complement card purchases. Owner Tracey Colliston says: ‘’We’ve found more of a demand for gifts in card shops and have gone on to produce wooden plaques, keepsake cards and notebooks to complement our cards. The wooden plaques are doing well for us, and the small ones are lovely as a tag to put over a bottle as a gift.

‘’If a shop only had room for one product, I would recommend our keepsake cards, which don’t take up much space, but get a good return.’’

Ask the retailer

‘‘Gift wise, East of India is a very good seller for us; it continues to surpass itself with ideas and new designs.

We have many lines from Joe Davies and Widdop; very few of their lines don’t sell! well. Container group has a lovely range of traditional wooden toys. As for smaller companies Wot ma like (Yorkshire speak cards and gifts) does very well. Melt candles are also popular; their scents are fabulous.

POM scarves, gloves and jewellery are consistently good. Hopefully that will continue as I’ve ordered A LOT from the AW range!

Also in jewellery, Joma sells very well and Arran Bay is also very popular. I’ve had a couple of orders from Tianguis Jackson, which has unusual designs at good prices.’’ Melinda Scarfe, Thinking of You, Denby Dale, West Yorkshire
