november Movember Movember is a trend that has been picked up by the community a couple years ago. Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer and other male cancers, and associated charities. The Movember Foundation runs the Movember charity event, housed at Movember.com. Since the trend started rugby players have been heavily involved in it. The idea is to have a clean shave at the end of October and grow your mustache troughout Aberdeen rugby

CAMERON TURNER

ABOUT HIS ROAD TO SUCCES and THE UPCOMING JUNIOR SIX NATIONS

What is the goal for any advice for the youths who want to get here is no need to the u20 Six nations? in the scotland squad doubt this young later? “Despite having a lot of talent, man’s ambitions. Cameron Turner Scotland U20 is always at the bot- “Train as hard as you can! And tom of the table in the Junior Six is only twenty I think that physique is a huge Nations. This summer, some playyears old, but factor as well. I saw a lot of boys ers got into a trainings programme getting dropped from the team, already has a huge CV, rugby in New Zealand. I think that the not because they weren’t talented wise. Cameron Turner captained preparation is really good this time enough, but because their physiall Scotland’s youth respresentitive and that we should be able to win cal game wasn’t strong. You can teams. Currently he is playing for to win at least two games. The make a big impact in U20 rugby by Aberdeen Grammar FPRFC and competition is killing though...” being physically stronger than your Scotland U20. We met up with opponents” him to ask him some questions.

There is a lot going on in your rugby carreer at the moment. Can you shed some light on where you stand now. “My biggest focus at the moment is the Junior Six Nations in next February. That takes a lot of time, because training is all the way down in Edinburgh. I’m also a 1stXV player for Grammar. We got relegated from the BT Premiership last year and a lot of boys left for other clubs. That means that players like me have to stand up to fill in their places. At the start of the season we had a lot of injuries and we were at the bottom of the league. Now, half way through the season, we are mid-table. That is wat we were aiming for.”

th i w s n o i t s silly que

calum Gordon

Every month we ask a Aberdonian rugby player a couple of silly questions. This way we get to know all sort of things about them. This month’s interviewee is calum Gordon, a 21 year old winger from aberdeen Grammar FPRFC

FUNNIEST THING YOU’ve HEARd ON THE PITCH ? This happened at school rugby back in Braemar. It was a really aggresive game and the referee couldn’t handle it anymore. When he was so fed up of giving penalties all the time he started to throw out a lot of curse words. After that he went straight inside and the game was off.

do you have any phobias ? My number one phobia is cockroaches. I dived with big sharks and also been really close to wild animals in South Africa, but when I see a cockroach I start screaming my lungs out.

superstitions ? I’m not really superstitious, but when I see a black cat, I’ll walk round it. Just to be shore I guess...

any guilty pleasures ? That would be watching X-factor. I’m a huge fan off Cheryl haha!

what are your hidden talents ? I’m pretty good with card tricks! One of my dad’s biggest hobbies is magic. He used to teach me and my brother all his tricks when we were younger. Allthough I’m not as good as my father or brother, I still can do a couple of tricks!

if you could have one superpower, what would that be and why ? Thats actually something I quite often think about haha! There are loads of superpower which would be cool to have, but if I had to choose it will be teleportation. I love travelling and the biggest problem is that it is very expensive. If I could teleport, I would go to tropical Islands on rainy days!

AGFPRFC 1 AUG 1993 BRAEMAR WING

How would you like to be remembered ? In rugby, as a guy who it his all and enjoyed it along the way. I’ve got fantastic memories and hope to make a few more.
