FLUX-Sonic Stylus Cleaner

Everyone here at LWA loves the

sound of vinyl. We’re huge fans! What we don’t love is the sound of a dirt and dust in the grooves, or the blurred sound caused by a dirty stylus. We have a lot of products that can help you keep your LPs clean, from a low cost but highly effective Inakustik Carbon-

Fibre brush ($25), through a manual record-washer (Spin-Clean Record Washer

Mk2 at $149), to a mains-powered recordwasher (Pro-Ject VC-E at $699) right up to an exotic Kirmuss KA-RC-1 Ultrasonic

Record Restoration System ($2,200).

What we have not had available — until now — is a high-quality, highperformance stylus cleaner that is safe, effective and simple to use. In the past we have sold stylus brushes, but these have all been highly dependent on the skill of the person using them. If you brush too softly and you won’t get rid of the dirt. But if you brush too hard — or in the wrong direction — you could potentially damage your cartridge’s delicate cantilever.

So we’re excited to tell you about our latest arrival from Germany, the Flux-HiFi FLUX-Sonic stylus cleaner. This high-tech device will gently, safely and quickly remove dirt, dust and grime from your cartridge’s stylus, and you don’t even have to remove the cartridge from your tonearm in order to use it!

As you have likely guessed from the name, the FLUX-Sonic uses sound in combination with a specially formulated fl uid to remove all dust and dirt particles from your phono stylus. It does not, however, use ultrasonic sound, but sonic vibrations at much lower frequencies.

Operation is simple. You place the FLUX-Sonic on your turntable, apply the fl uid to a specially designed pad made of the fi nest PE fi bres, place the stylus on the pad and turn on the FLUX-Sonic. The combination of the fl uid, the vibration and the capillary action of the PE fi bres will have your stylus sparkling clean in just fi fteen seconds.

We recommend you use the FLUXSonic after every fi ve albums, as this will not only improve the sound quality of your LPs, but will also extend the life of your stylus and keep your LPs more pristine as well, since you will not be re-introducing particles from the stylus back into the LP groove. Price: $279
