Venus flytrap - New Owners - GUIDE! This's plenty of information for Venus fly trap, but, it is means. Congratulation for our choice. You just have bought your Venus flytrap. You will soon find that they arise to 'grow' on you. But, don't rely merely upon the instructions as it is possible that they may have some errors. This explanation explains how to grow these plants. Remove the plastic dome and put it outside (don't worry about rain, it very rarely shuts the traps)! Average garden centers have to use vaults, as they think these plants require greenhouses because they think they are humid. They couldn't be more wrong. They actually live in a part of North America that gets frosts every winter. Consequently, over the period of about a week, slowly take the dome off the container to get it acclimated to the outside.

Put a tray of soft, short lime content liquid. Water from the bottom. Venus flytrap is one of these plants that enjoy water. Keep it stood up in about a centimeter, except, if this is in winter.

Venus Flytrap – The Mysterious Plant

Now in November as the autumn is here, think about the wellbeing of your Venus flytrap plant. Do it fairness and save about a 1/5 centimeter of water in its tray. Keep it in a sheltered spot in the garden or orangery, or anywhere with a good light and is unheated. When the leaves go black. You don't want an untidy plant. Keep Venus flytrap away from freezing wind. You may put it a shed till not so unfriendly. When winter ends and spring is no it’s way. It’s time for another carnivore year. Start giving it water again, and re-pot if necessary, using: peat and (hard to find) perlite in equal amounts. If you can't get perlite, try using washed agricultural sand. This is the best, next to perlite. Only re-pot at this time of the year, or your plant will be very stunned by this movement.

Plants! Only let it flower if it's a good strong one with many heads. Let the flower stem (looking like a flagpole) grow to about 2 centimeters, them cut it off about 1/2 centimeter from the bottom. Pollinate them with a paintbrush (if it's strong enough to flower), and then wait 'till autumn when the flower is fine and thirsty. Then pick it! To grow seeds, the best way is to break the pod exposed. Plenty of little black tiny seeds should come out. Don't lose them. Now, put them on some lichen and moss, and then put a bit of grip film over the container. You could consider the opportunity to put them in to refrigerator for several weeks, but it doesn't seem very helpful. Be tolerant! These plants will take weeks or even months to grow! Now, it’s time for fun! Feed your Venus flytrap with an insect or two monthly. Venus flytrap does not require to be served though. It’s important to remember not to feed them throughout the winter, when the Venus flytrap is sleeping. Enjoy your plant.
