THE EVENT The 2011-12 Global Ocean Race – a truly unique 24-month long branding and marketing opportunity that will carry the name of its Title Sponsor to a wide international audience. The Right Race at the Right Time – an affordable and achievable around the world yacht race for skippers and sponsors alike. Organisers anticipate 15-20 entries,14 are confirmed already, all double-handed crews racing aboard near-identical 40 foot yachts. This second running of the event will be one of the biggest round the world races in existence. The event lasts nine months, the promotion 24 months. The Host Ports for the Race – Mallorca, Cape Town, Wellington, Punta del Este, Charleston then back to the finish in Mallorca. Three-week stopovers in each port provide superb promotional opportunities for sponsors.

RACE ORGANISERS This opportunity is being offered by Global Ocean Sailing Ventures Limited (GOSV), a UK-based race management company owned and operated by former solo around the World sailor Josh Hall. The GOSV race management team organised and operated the highly successful Portimao Global Ocean Race 2008-09. GOSV are the only race organisers to have successfully managed an Around The World Race on a classic route for 40ft racing yachts. STOPOVER PORTS Mallorca has been chosen for the start and finish of the Global Ocean Race providing a stylish, glamorous and multi-cultural backdrop to the event. Mallorca’s rich maritime history and current position as a globally recognised centre of nautical excellence provides the perfect venue for both race entries and race sponsors. The stopover ports of Cape Town, Wellington, Punta del Este and Charleston have been carefully chosen to provide the best possible course for the competitors and perfect venues to host the fleet and stage promotional events for the race sponsors and suppliers, including those of our entries. The fleet will be in each stopover port for approximately three weeks allowing ample time for cultural and business-to-business exchanges, as well as local and international media opportunities. The Race Organisation are liaising directly with the city councils of each stopover. The host ports are equally keen to promote and showcase themselves during the race.

GOSV Ltd has agreements in place for infrastructure, promotion and local support for the 2011-12 race with each host city.

OFFICIAL WEBSITE The 2008-09 Event website received almost 30 million hits from around the world during the period of the race.

The website will be improved and enhanced for the 2011-12 event. An interactive online virtual game is planned and this can attract a huge new audience for the event as proven by the Vendee Globe and Volvo Ocean Race. The public will be able to access comprehensive information about the race through the official Global Ocean Race website as well as the websites of each team. The official website will include the following information: • A multi-lingual site • A race viewer that shows precise positions of each yacht • An interactive race game for the public • Daily commentary about the race with weather and tactical analysis • Multi-media sent from each competitor throughout the race • Public subscription available for daily updates and newsletters • Hyperlinks to the event sponsors’ own sites • Media and public access to images and video
