Results During six years of its existence, ISD Continental established itself as a strong road cycling team that always aims at winning races and stages. In 2012 final ranking list, ISD-Lampre Continental is placed 32nd in UCI Europe Tour (Professional Continental and Continental teams) and 15th among Continental teams.
Places in season’s final UCI Europe Tour rankings The team leader, Vitaly Popkov, finished 2012 season 51st in UCI Europe Tour individual ranking. Anatoliy Pakhtusov is ranked 103rd. In 2012 ISD-Lampre Continental riders account for more than half of Ukraine’s points in UCI Nations ranking list - a trend observed from year to year. ISD team’s 2012 calendar consisted predominantly of UCI Europe Tour stage races (Croatia, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Czech Republic, Poland, Baltic States etc) as well as Asia Tour UCI 2.1 and 2.2 races (Korea, Iran, China). As a result, 27 podium places for ISD team’s riders. 1

The leader Vitaliy Popkov, who missed the second half of 2010 season and most of 2011, is back to his best. Having the high-class performer is very important for the Continental team. However, Popkov’s spectacular victories in 2012 are results of exceptional teamwork, effective organization of the training process and efficient calendar.

Participation in racers in Asia In recent years cycling has been rapidly developing in Asia. New races have appeared, and those that exist upgrade to higher categories. ISD-Lampre Continental keeps up with this tendency. In 2012 the team took part in five races of UCI Asia Tour calendar: Tour de Korea (Republic of Korea, UCI 2.2), International Azerbaijan Tour (Iran, UCI 2.2), Tour of China I (China, UCI 2.1), Tour of China II (China, UCI 2.1) and Tour of Taihu Lake (China, UCI 2.1). In two first category races, Tour of China I and II, ISD-Lampre Continental riders finished three stages on podium (Vasiliev and twice Popkov). More importantly, Vitaliy Popkov is third in the final general classification of Tour of China II. The team earned 64 Asia Tour points. In the final 2012 Asia Tour individual ranking Popkov is 66th with 44.67 points.

2012 team composition In 2012 the team consists of 11 riders. It has become more compact as compared to 2010, the most successful year so far, when it included 16 athletes. Now the team is entirely Ukrainian. There are cyclists of every type, the team’s composition is completed on all lines, combining youth and experience. The oldest rider, Vitaliy Popkov, is 29 years old, while the youngest, Volodymyr Dzhus, is 19. The average age of the riders is 23 years.

Mission and plans ISD Continental team’s mission has been defined by its initial goals: development of Ukrainian cycling and training of Ukrainian personnel in all cycling specializations: riders, coaches, sport directors, managers, mechanics and masseurs. The team is the main source of Ukraine’s UCI ranking points. The team aims at being in the top 30 of UCI Europe Tour combined ranking and in top 10 among European Continental teams. The next step in the project development can be creation of first Ukrainian Professional Continental team on the basis of ISD Continental. The team’s results and experience accumulated over many years prove that we are ready for the new step which will benefit the riders, ISD club and Ukrainian cycling. 8
