Transformative Shape Latin America  2015  Salvador da Bahia

Brazil was born here. Maybe that's why this city has in its DNA the mixing of cultures and races - Indian, European and African - its most striking feature. That mix it’s also perceived in its architecture, since the city is divided between high and low city connected by Lacerda Elevator significant tourist point of Salvador - with reference to social inequality between high and low classes easily seen on the streets, but overshadowed by the smile of the people, always very cheerful and hospitable to all who visit.

SALVADOR

"Nothing is stronger than an idea whose time has come.“ Victor Hugo

Over the past three years Salvador is, in a joint effort with civil society, government and private companies, developing alternatives and recovering the happiness of soteropolitano people on living in this city. The entrepreneurs from Salvador often have to be creative to face the challenges of the city. They need to seek the transformation of the city and the impact of their business need to bring sustainable and social changes. Believing in sharing of these collaborative initiatives, we bring the subject Transformative Entrepreneurship so that all Latin American countries can experience this reality and bring some of our learning to their hometown.

WE WILL

REACHING OUR GOAL

Salvador da Bahia it’s a new hub, but with only few months we won The Climate Shape, an award part of the Annual Meeting of the New Champions that selected innovative initiatives led by youth that promotes climate resilience. We were one of six winners, receiving 10.000 Swiss Francs for the project that we develops along with the Family Farm School in Jaboticaba, Quixabeira. This was the only project in Latin America among the finalists.

Besides that, now we are together with Porto Alegre Hub bringing their project Cardbox to Salvador. The shapers gather card boxes for receiving objects - all in perfect condition to be used - the most varied ones. Anyone can put items at the boxes or remove what they want with no cost. Therefore we promote the exchange and the conscious use of products in a stimulating collaborative economy.

Large experience organizing events Support from the Brazilian community of shapers Good relationship with city hall
