Who is it suitable for?

• Accountants already qualified or experienced in country specific financial reporting standards • Professionals who wish to acquire an internationally recognised qualification, specialised in IFRS, from a global institution (ACCA) • Anyone considering continuing their studies with the full ACCA qualification covering all areas of accounting

How long does it take?

You can apply online at any time for the Diploma in International Finance Reporting (DipIFR). It is assessed by a single, three-hour written exam held twice a year. A minimum of eighty hours of study is recommended depending on your knowledge and experience.

Costs

The initial registration fee of £205 includes one exam attempt. If you need to re-sit the exam, each further attempt will also cost £205.

When are the exams?

Paper based exams are in June and December each year.

When are results released?

ACCA results are released in February (for December exams) and August (for June exams) each year.

What are the entry requirements?

If you are a professional accountant or auditor who works in practice or business, and are qualified according to national accounting standards, then you are eligible to take the qualification. If you are working in practice, but not yet qualified, then you may still be eligible. You will need to prove that you have one of the following: • three years’ relevant accounting experience (by submitting a letter from your employer) • a relevant degree plus two years’ work experience • an ACCA Certificate in International Financial Reporting plus two years’ work experience.

When is the registration deadline?

ACCA needs to receive your registration form and copies of all your supporting documents by 20 days before the following closing dates: • 8 April for June exams • 8 October for December exams.

What supporting documentation do I need?

You need to send supporting documentation to ACCA following your online registration. Depending on your entry route you should send: • your certificate accepting you as a member of the professional accounting institution, or • a letter from your employer(s) giving brief details of the three years experience you have had in an accounting role, or • your degree certificate and a letter from your employer(s) giving brief details of the two years experience you have had in an accounting role, or • your ACCA CertIFR certificate and evidence of two years’ employment
