This project is about maximizing and utilizing advantages of the local landscape to generate a new community with a cosy living ambience. Since it is supposed to be a multi-function commercial community, designers are responsible for helping clients to gain more profits and raise its additional value. This is done by integrating whole buildings into local landscape to potentially emerge a gateway for great access to the city. The site offers a generous view which is sitting at the intersection of three rivers facing towards the bay. While it is 30km away from Qingdao city and 10km to the airport, this area is capable to be the stronghold for airport nearby.

Taizhou Wanda Plaza (AECOM internship 2014) Group work Mainly participating in initial concept design for the facade of Wanda shopping center
Taizhou, as an emerging city along the eastern coast of China, its location determines there is a special relationship existed between Taizhou with ocean. In that case, reflecting this special relationship comes to be my priority for this project. Via using sea wave surface as its faรงade to generate a consolidated form, also it naturally gain massive curved opening underneath. The dual functions of this design are allowing a large circulation as a basic requirement for a shopping mall and matching its design intention. As a commercial project, helping client to gain more profits is always the first thing need to be considered. By exaggerating the size difference between the entrances of shopping mall and office building to emphasize its shopping function rather than its office building, which also potentially provides privacy for its office building.

The building is formed from the colour psychology and the data from the theory of the light wavelength frequency. Since the colour psychology demonstrate colour could cause the strong impacts on human not only spiritual but also physical, it is important to let colour decide its particular location on the building. Based on the shape psychology, rectangle give the impression of could be a title or standing out, and triangle could be regarding as structure. The theory of light wavelength frequency provide the specific data to form this building. More specifically, the formula of c = λ ×f illustrated there are only two unknown quantities in this equation, thus the geometry shape which has two unknown quantities will only be considered, such as circle: π × r2=3×r×r, or square: a×b, or triangle: 1/2a×b. In addition, white light actually combine all the lights which can be regarding as combining all the shapes and black light is not exist which means non regular geometry shape could suit it.

The chanllenge was to design a Sherlock Holmes theme theatre on the corner of Spencer and Bourke Street in Melbourne. The idea is to identify the layers of our site by color, applying color on the layer based on the function of the building and color psychology.

Group project. 3rd year studio. Bachelor of Environments As a group work design project, my major responsibility is charging its design concept and its parametric design.
This project is in order to utilize parametric design principles to create a series of artic/ sculptural installations to achieve a design outcome that will arrogantly become culturally significant to Wyndham city. The aim of this project is to make the proposal to create its own ‘cultural capital’ to be its own Bilbao effect. In that case, we wanted to explore an ‘artists’ approach for the design. One where we were able to meet the objectives of Wyndham City + Studio Air through the use of our topic of discourse in combination with a geometric design approach.
2 The process begun with a quick sketch of roads of the Western Highway drawn in Rhino. With manipulating initial 2D diagram into 3D form in order to begin constructing something into a sculpture, which is the way to incorporate the site and to generate the form. The series of sculptures essentially becoming a drive through art gallery looking at the development of one piece of artists work from conception to outcome. This requirement the supportig from location selection of each sculpture to be placed a particular way, which has an importance of how they are viewed. From the precedent Follies of La Villette, the result of experiencing of exploring a series of sculptures is like a trip round an exhibition. In that case, our team decide to arrange the series of sculpture along the Princes Highway, which is from Geelong towards to Melbourne.
There would be many different levels of understanding from the views. Some that drive through the gallery, will have absolutely no understanding of the background of the project in terms of the ‘artist’ decision and approach. These people have to enjoy the installations just as much as the people that would understand, analyse and critique the pedigree of the project. The approach we chosen has the ability to do this for the participants as it is stimulating and engaging enough, has different understandings and is of grand enough scale to allow for different perceptions.

A Description of using Grasshopper This grasshopper diagram shows how was our digital model made initially. Generally, this step is to make the 3D lines into 3D pipes. The screenshot on the left shows how the light yellow 3D lines turn into red 3D pipes by using the grasshopper.
Fabrication 3D printer comes to be the best option to deal with such difficult model fabricating.
DetailL Model
Two methods of how to connect components Method 1: Overlapping each panel and then being bolted together. Method 2: Based on the structure of boat making. The long arms with then a subsequent framing of concentric circles, and aluminium foil cover it afterwards to represent hot rolled steel would cover its main structure. This is the second step of having further experiments with grasshopper. Through testing kangaroo plug-in, we find out the outcomes were much more appropriate as we designed for. Overall, the outcomes are approaching our idea of creating something what will arrogantly become culturally significant to site. Meanwhile, it can also express our topic—geometry.

Overlapping different iterations of relaxed structures at different times within the Kangaroo Physics function in order to create best form for the last sculpture. One possible way the structure could be joined to the ground, which requires metal panels to become thicker towards the base.

Inspired loosely by the works and principles of Louis Kahn, this design for a riverside boathouse functions not only as a space for boating enthusiasts to enjoy a day out along the tranquil bends of Yarra river, but also caters for casual visitors looking to relax along the waterside.

Ground floor The main essence of this design is utilizing geometry as self-supporting, not only reflects on the internal arch walls not also for its front façade. The form of the boathouse flowed organically from the purpose of the internal spaces. Since the ground plan is totally open, then the double spiral stairs come to be the only entrance to access upstairs café and restaurant, which are overhanding housed. NORTH ELEVATION
