Hey UP! We are the Northfield Arts Forum! This is our Brand Style Guide. We’re very active in our community. We want to make 
 sure we look consistent across all our communications. This says that we are professional & makes us easy to spot in a very busy & loud world.
who we are: We’re down-to-earth, fun-loving, community-minded, grassroots, for by & with our community, we love diversity, we are family-friendly, we are local. We are artists, creators & culture-smiths.
OUR MISSION: Arts Forums were set up by the council in each city district. NAF is a grassroots arts network for the communities of Northfield, Longbridge, Kings Norton & Weoley Castle. We exist to support, grow, amplify, shine-a-light-on arts & culture f0r, by & with our communities.
OUR VOICE: We are not an uppity bunch! We speak in plain everyday english. We do not favour exclusive artsy or corporate jargon. We are pretty laid-back & informal. We have a sense of humour. We are positive and encouraging! …So get stuck in and join the fun! (see what we just did there! no? oh well…)
OUR PRIMARY LOGOS:
The teal splash with the charcoal fonts are our primary logos. 
 Use at all times on our publicity materials!
OUR SECONDARY LOGOS:
The black & white logos are to be used only when our lovely teal colour fails to stand out from the background.
DO’S Use the full Logo on official documents.
Use this Logo online & for general publicity.
Leave decent space around the logo. Use the width of the logo’s letter ’N’.
no no’s Don't apply drop shadows, glows, bevels etc. Don’t Stretch or Squish the logo. If you can’t see the splash clearly, it’s too small! Don’t change the colour of the logo.
Don't rotate the logo.

Our Secondary Typeface is ‘Spellbound’
This is a header type for promo materials. i.e posters, flyers, social media banners etc.

OUR iconography toons! We want all who experience our brand to feel welcome & delighted. 
 Our graphics are fun, vibrant & quirky. 
 Our growing library of icons are made to be consistent with this look.
colour: Our colours reflect our vibrant personality. Use these for graphics or to add colour to text. RGB colours are best for web use. CMYK colours are always used in Print. Use our primary colours wherever possible. Use our secondaries to support the primaries.

OUR photOS: Our photos are more than a record of what happened. Our photos tell the story of our values. Our story goes beyond art & into diversity, inclusion & cultural exchange. Photos to be used for Publicity should be expressive. We want to spotlight folks interacting & having a ruddy good time doing it! We love pics that celebrate people! Close-ups of art are lovely, but use those for quick social media posts. People working together / people sharing a laugh / people of different races, ages and backgrounds mixing / people performing for excited audiences are awwwwesome! Use these for Posters & Flyers etc.
OUR photOS: Our vibrant identity is easily recognisable. Black & white photos will complement our colourful brand nicely :0) Ensure photos are sharp, brightly lit & not over-exposed. Crop out any distractions around your main subject. Black & white will be very forgiving if you have i) cluttered backgrounds ii) poor white balance iii) colours that distract from the subject. too bright & blurry

Use Spellbound font for header Insert the ‘NAF splash’ behind the last word in the header Create a rectangular panel(s) using our brand colours (Optional) Insert a suitable black & white photo - see photo guidelines Use alegreya regular font for text, emphasise with bold / caps If the event is not by NAF do not create a poster, send the event organisers our logos to add to their posters / flyers.
