Noting that the economy’s outlook is positive, S&P forecasts that real GDP will grow by 2.8% on average over 2018-2021, supportedbyinvestmentactivityandserviceexports.

At a special event, which took place on Tuesday the 24th of April 2018, the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nicos Anastasiades honored ARMONIA ESTATES LTD, a member of the Leptos Group, with the Cyprus Export Services Award for 2016. This is the second time, aſter 2014 where the Leptos Group achievesthisveryimportantdistinction.

The Cyprus Export Award was established in 1982 with the aim of rewarding exceptional effort to increase exports of products and services. As far as services are concerned, this award is given to companies with outstanding performance, notably recognizing the great effort to open up new markets and importforeigncurrencyintothecountry.

Academic Alliance between Neapolis University of Pafos and the University of Hull, UK

At a recent press conference, the Neapolis University in Cyprus and the University of Hull, United Kingdom announced their establishing of joint professional relations. The two Academic Institutions have agreed to work conjointly in regards to two of their undergraduate programmes. Students enrolled within Neapolis University's “Bachelor of Business Administration” and “Bachelor in Accounting, Banking & Finance” will be abletocompletetheirfinalyearofstudiesandgraduatefromtheUniversityofHull.

The press conference was attended by the President of Neapolis University, Mr. MichalakisLeptosandDr.SpyrosVliamos,DeanoftheSchoolofEconomicSciencesat Neapolis.RepresentingtheUniversityofHullwereMrs.LynneBarrowoftheCollegeof BusinessAdministration,Legal&PoliticalSciencesandMrs.AmandaLee,Deanofthe SchoolofHealthSciences.

The University of Cyprus, in the context of the “CSRC” European Research Programme, introduced an Architecture Competition betweenstudentsofallSchoolsandDepartmentsofArchitecture in Cyprus, for the design of the Cyprus Science and Research Centre,intheUniversityCampusinNicosia.

Sevenoutofthethirtyintotalproposalssubmitted,werefromthe SchoolofArchitectureofNeapolisUniversity,Pafos.

It is worth noting that only 15 of the 30 submitted proposals received any marks from the Jury, which consisted of representatives of the four Schools/Departments of Architecture ofCyprus,plusonefromItaly,andonefromDenmark.

Also, in accordance with the regulations of the Competition, the representative of every School/Department was not allowed to voteforanyproposalsfromtheirSchool/Programme.

All the proposals from Neapolis University, were the work of th students from the 7 Semester Studio Design Course. The teachersinthisSemesterwereProfessorSolonXenopoulos,Dean of the School of Architecture, Engineering, Land and Environmental Sciences of Neapolis University, and Dimitris Antoniou, Assistant Professor in Building Design and Technology Course.

Speaking during the event, Mr. Leptos announced that the partnership with one of the UK'sleadingUniversitiesispartofNeapolis'slongtermobjectivesinbecomingacenter for such academic partnerships. Neapolis University's ideal location in Paphos, Cyprus, in addition to the University's existing and dynamically emerging infrastructure, provides almost unlimited advantages for the successful implementation of this strategy.TheAcademicpartnershipbetweenthetwoUniversitiesplacesPaphosonthe world'sacademicmap.

Aiming to improve educational services offered, with a particular emphasis on joint research and educational programmes, this partnership seeks to attract an increasing number of foreign students wanting to pursue British academic qualifications in an idealenvironmentcombiningaMediterraneanclimateandEuropeanlifestylewithlow tuitionfees.

LynneBarrow,speakingonbehalfoftheUniversityofHull,expressedherbeliefthatthis collaboration will allow for deeper penetration within international markets, bringing multiple benefits not only for both universities, but for Paphos and Cyprus as a whole. Mrs. Barrow also expressed a willingness and desire for further academic, and other jointactionsbetweenthetwoUniversities.

LIMASSOL DEL MAR HEAVY CONSTRUCTION WORKS HAVE STARTED

Further to the official assignment of the completion of the luxurious development project Limassol Del Mar to the Cypriot construction company Atlas Pantou Co Ltd and the three international construction giants MAN Enterprise, ICM Group and CMB Società Cooperativa, the works at the construction site are currently intensively active. Providing priority to deadlines and delivery targets aiming the summer of 2019, the Consortium of Leptos and D. Zavos Groups took immediateaction.

Right aſter the letter of award of the fully licensed project was signed, the Consortium companies, in collaboration with the architectural team and the local authorities, undertook all the necessary measurements and procedures towards creating an efficient, effective andsafeconstructionsite.

Based on the scheduled construction works plan, Phase I will be concluded and delivered in the summer of 2019, whereas Phase II within 2020. It is worth highlighting the fact that delivery deadlines setareconsideredthefastestintheCypriotmarket.Theinitialphase includes the completion and delivery of the 17-storey tower, the ground floor which will host the shops and restaurants, the parking spaces and the third floor, where all facilities and apartments of the firsttowerwillbelocated.

The second phase includes the delivery of all apartments of the “SignatureCollection”;thesecondtowerconsistingof27floors.
