THE +: The featuring of individual and very specific gastronomic produce which appear on the menu or are an essential ingredient in a dish (for example Menton lemons which have a reputation amongst chefs or local cheeses from neighbouring farms). ALSO A LA CARTE: Meals to be shared, with several taster starters as an aperitif, Savoyard dishes (served in a dedicated dining room), oysters at any time… WINE LIST: A very fine wine list with some outstanding wines and an excellent cellar. Events centred on the great wines of France, with a sommelier.
Every Sunday, after the pistes close, the LODGE plays host to new arrivals and offers them a taste of local produce.
After 4.30 p.m., aperitifs at the LODGE are accompanied by music. “Son et lumières” shows, live concerts Mille8 will also be the venue for “son et lumières” shows and concerts during the season’s high spots (Christmas show, inauguration of Mille8, New Year, Skiing in Springtime …). And Snowtrail, snowga (yoga), tea in the Cabins or at the Penguins, zumba, toboggan challenge, giant snowball fight, skicross race starting in fours, astro-hike (with a professional astronomer).

Top quality apartment buildings in the heart of Arc 2000. It offers 43 apartments accommodating from 2 to 10 people (from 32 to 130m2), modern, comfortable and well equipped. View over the ski area and the surrounding mountains, orientation varies according to the type of apartment (West or South East, South West or even South). Huttopia is a designer, builder and operator of nature camp sites which manages 33 sites today under the Huttopia and Indigo brands. It is an independent business established in 1999. The Versoyen camp site project will extend over two years and will include a programme aimed at extending the opening season and accommodating new types of clientele. Work will be carried out on the existing site and an extension to the plot is also planned, particularly to install new facilities (swimming pool, terrace, light catering facilities). ARCHITECTURE THE 20TH CENTURY LABEL GUIDED TOURS OR HOW TO EXPLORE THE ARCHITECTURE OF LES ARCS Proof that modernity can compromise with the mountains, nature and the town, the conglomerations of Arc 1600 and Arc 1800 were awarded the «20th Century Heritage» label in 2006. The Les Arcs Tourist Office organises free guided tours to explore the architecture of Les Arcs. Every week a guide offers visitors a guided walk round the various parts of the resort.

1968: MODERNITY WORKING ON BEHALF OF NATURE Creating a ski resort out of nothing and constructing a setting that is functional and aesthetically pleasing and fulfil is the needs of this new growth in tourism is in itself an exciting project. The developer, Roger Godino and the young team of architects who worked on les Arcs resolutely aligned their project with modernity. Contrary to the opinion of some detractors who saw in it a desire to «concrete over the mountains», under the benevolent authority of Charlotte Perriand, this intensely creative period was intended to work for the conservation of nature.
CHARLOTTE PERRIAND A WOMAN OF CREATION Charlotte Perriand is a very well known architect and designer in France, particularly as she worked with Le Corbusier. She worked on the building of the various sectors of Les Arcs for nearly 20 years. She was the soul of the group of architects who were fascinated by her creative power. Through keeping the group together and preventing them from drifting it is surely thanks to her that the architectural line defined at the outset endured throughout the construction of all the sectors. Her concept of functionality, the “right move“, practical shape, simple beauty without design and without added decoration, was to inspire a style of architecture conceived from the inside working outwards. By making these young architects start by putting themselves in the visitors’ shoes she overturned their professional reflexes and pushed them to go beyond the usual boundaries between town planning,
Her work in Les Arcs is particularly recognisable for: - The raised balconies allowing light to flood into the apartments and to provide a wider outlook on the view - The work on the furnishings, every piece of which was conceived and designed by Charlotte Perriand - The innovative technical solutions such as the resin bathrooms made in a single block to minimise time and costs. An unknown process at the time! - The integral kitchens opening onto the living area. Almost standard today, they were a real revolution 45 years ago! - The work on the buildings’ gangways, given life by the solid colours of the wood and the lighting.

The make-up of the Agence Arcadienne is supple and elastic to reflect the needs of its projects. The hard core comprises members of the Ecole Supérieure d’Art de l’Agglomération d’Annecy et des Pays de Savoie (ESAAA) (Greater Annecy and the Savoie Region Higher School of Art) and the Ecole Supérieure d’Art et Design de Saint-Etienne (ESADSE) (Saint-Etienne Higher School of Art and Design). The Agency is linked to other research projects involving higher schools of art in the region, modernist architects and innovation.
THE RESEARCH CELL The aim of the research programme is to rethink the perception of mountain holidays in Les Arcs: living conditions, practices and leisure and to suggest some predicted scenarios connected to these themes. Staying in an apartment building on site enables forecasts and concepts to be studied on the ground. Several working themes have been tackled in these workshops: - In 2013: research oriented towards the transformation of the Les Arcs cell (architecture, design, planning). - In 2014: research oriented towards living conditions and life for the resort of Les Arcs (architecture, art, area, planning). - In 2015: research oriented towards public spaces in Les Arcs (architecture, art, area, planning, town planning, landscape).
