The facade of Sum Kum Lee General Store in Chinatown, Lt. Bourke Street, Melbourne sketched using pencil on paper as part of a research on Melbourne’s facade building culture and history. It incorporates features of the triumphal arch and Renaissance architecture.
Sketched an alleyway in Melbourne using Artline pen. The aim of this is to practice portraying 3D space in 2D, drawing in perspective and making the viewer feel like they are in the picture while creating harmony in the overall picture.
An analysis on Melbourne Central. Focusing on three systems: constructed, social and network system. The way the systems are arranged in order to complement each other, preserving its histrory while developing forward.
SKETCHES
Given the concrete lawn in Melbourne University as the site, the human circulation at the site at different times of a day is mapped out and analysed. Using the site conditions and my narrative, I came up with a design that has the exibility to hold different kinds of activities in the spaces.
