When planning your next golf trip to Alabama, consider scheduling it around one of the many professional and amateur golf events we host each year. In addition to world-class golf, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail has hosted prestigious PGA, LPGA and NCAA events, plus the 59th U.S. Senior Women's Amateur Championship. Professional golfers from around the world descend on the capital region each fall in the LPGA Epson Tour’s Guardian Championship, played on the Senator Course at Capitol Hill; the PGA Champions Tour competes in the Regions Tradition at Greystone in Birmingham each spring; and a new PGA Korn Ferry Tour event is played at The Ledges in Huntsville. For competitive amateur couples, there are plenty of tournament playing options in Alabama, around which to schedule a golf vacation. Three RTJ Trail sites - Magnolia Grove in Mobile, The Shoals in Florence and Grand National in Auburn/Opelika - host fun and exciting couples events each year and the Gulf Shores area presents their Coastal Alabama Couples Classic each fall, where couples compete on a variety of courses and enjoy beach activities and unique dinners along the coastal waters.
