Today’s game is the second annual Minnesota High School All-Star Prospects Game, featuring the top juniors and seniors in the great State of Hockey. But it is more than just a game. The Minnesota High School All-Star Prospects Game is a kick-off celebration of yet another exciting season of high school hockey. Hundreds of teams and thousands of players will hit the ice in the next week with the common goal of reaching the coveted state tournament. Several players on the ice today have had the fortune of playing in the state tournament this past March, some of them even fortunate enough to win it. Most of these kids began playing the game they love when they were three years old. Through their relentless effort and dedication to the game and their teammates, through all the long road trips to cold ice arenas throughout the State of Hockey when they were squirts, peewees and bantams, their journey brings them to today where they are among the best of the best. Most of these players will play beyond high school hockey. Some you will probably see playing in the NHL some day. So sit back and enjoy watching some of the best players play the greatest game on earth.
